These diggers make me feel like I'm living a scene out of War of the Worlds ... the one where the fighting machines march across the city. They look so eerie, working in the darkness ... moving closer and closer ...

Nederland, Zuid-Holland, Katwijk, 28-04-2017; Marine Vliegkamp Valkenburg. Het voormalige militair vliegveld wordt ontmanteld en krijgt een nieuwe bestemming, woon-, werkgebied, recreatief.
Naval air base Valkenburg. The former military airport is dismantled and will recieve a new destination.

The latest batch of photos of Swanbourne Park ... since I last walked along here a week ago, another house has sprung up!
... just the way it was the day we closed.
Manor Nursery, Angmering ... about four months after it closed down in July. It will eventually go for building land.
Actually replacing St. Alphage House, the last of the Miesian tower blocks to be demolished along London Wall.
The remains of the Roman London Wall are hidden away in there and will be placed in a park like setting between two new office buildings.

Nederland, Amsterdam, IJburg, 25-05-2010. Vuurtoreneiland met Luwtedam, IJmeer gezien vanuit Waterland, met in het midden Pampus, Almere aan de horizon. Er zijn plannen om Almere verder uit te breiden en in het IJmeer te gaan bouwen. Ook aanleg van een IJmeerverbinding (IJmeerbrug) wordt overwogen.
IJmeer (IJsselmeer) seen to Almere (at the horizon). There are plans to further expand Almere in the IJmeer. Also the construction of a 'IJ-connexion' (bridge) is considered.

This is the robin that used to visit me by the till to feed on the bird seed there, without any fear ... and he would follow me around the entrance tunnel hoping for worms. Sometimes it seemed like all he wanted was some company. I can tell by the mark on his wing, and by his attitude ... each of the resident robins had some unique feature.
This is the only robin I saw up there today.
