Capital Dock is one of the largest mixed-use developments ever built in Ireland and it was completed towards the end of 2018 but I was unable to gain access to the completed project until Easter weekend 2019. The compex spans 4.8 acres, providing more than 690,000sq ft of new mixed-use space, including offices, retail and family units, as well as more than 1.5 acres of public park space.
Global investment bank JP Morgan and jobs site Indeed have committed to occupy all of the available office space, and are preparing their new premises for occupancy in 2019.
Nearly 200 family units will be available to rent this year, with a dedicated on-site concierge, resident lounges, cinema, professional gym, business suites and a chef’s kitchen. There is also be a landscaped park and square open to the public.
The project will welcome new retailers in the coming year, including a restaurant and bar with a terrace, a gourmet grocer, and additional food and beverage offerings.

A vast new housing estate brings Didcot closer to Harwell.
I expect future development will close the gap between Didcot and Harwell and Harwell will eventually become part of Greater Didcot.
It grieves me to see the wonderful Oxfordshire countryside disappearing under acres of concrete.

This is in the Milford Hill conservation area on the eastern side of the city of Salisbury in Wiltshire. Whilst the first church in the area (to the south) appeared around 1100, I can find no mention of the road until the 19th century.
However, the name would suggest that perhaps it was part a much older tradition of tracks running along ridges across southern England that are sometimes thousands of years old. Wain is a Middle English word for a horse-drawn wagon or cart (two- or four- wheeled) that seems to originate from some time before the 12th century. The alignment of the road, north-west to south-east, is on a ridge and off to the north-west is the Old Sarum. Could the road have been a route to/from that site and locations off to the south-east such as Southampton?
The area around the road appears to have been rural, with 'footpaths crossing open land' as late as the mid-19th century. In the latter half of the 19th century the church was selling-off land and property development got underway. Today the road is dominated by late-Victorian housing stock.
The sign would appear to be cast-iron on rather flimsy wooden stakes. It was on the south-eastern end of the road; in its immediate area the fence behind it and the pavement in front of it appeared to have been newly-installed and the sign itself appears to have been given a clean and lick of paint...

This is the robin that used to visit me by the till to feed on the bird seed there, without any fear ... and he would follow me around the entrance tunnel hoping for worms. Sometimes it seemed like all he wanted was some company. I can tell by the mark on his wing, and by his attitude ... each of the resident robins had some unique feature.
This is the only robin I saw up there today.
