Day 06 - Mine // I don't own many things that I actually call mine, but this is a promise ring that I received from my love who I haven't seen in a while. Looking at it is bittersweet because I don't really know if I'll see him again. I'd like to call him mine, though I don't know anymore. He seems to show affection through text, but there is someone else he treats better in the public eye.
Here is my second take at this prompt! I am really excited about seeing Harry Potter! I have followed the series, and will be sad to see it end.

I am participating in Folded Word's writing month event, called "24/7," during August. Participants spend the first 24 days of the month writing short works, then spend the final week in revisions. The second part of this entry gives more details.
I'm not required to give a central theme to the entries, but I chose the theme "Divinations" and am using a pair of dice to generate prompts. My prompt for August 9 is to write divination-themed micro-fiction that uses fire. You can read the piece here.

To the right is a mug containing writing utensils. Shelves line the walls, filled with books and knick-knacks. Winter sunlight streams through a window on the side. Day 04 - The View From Here // I didn't really have anywhere to go today, so I decided to just take the view out of my bedroom window. Yes, rocks and odd shrubbery though I live in the desert, so what did you expect? I think it's actually rather pretty, though I like hotter climate places and all things nature. Rocks are nature too. I know this sounds like an odd thing to say, but I haven't stepped on the rocks yet. I'm afraid of a scorpion popping out from under one and stinging me.

This is the edited version of the "be free" prompt. It was edited in Adobe Photoshop using different variants.
I started by finding the grey, white, and black points, then played around with exposure, curves, and color balance to bring out the more vibrant colors of the green grass and blue skies.
I then used the soft light blending mode on the curves layer to brighten it up a little bit more.
