#49 of 365 Daily Drawings
Inspiration: Remembrance Day
Result: Thank-you
Materials: Pentel 0.3 HB, Micron 005 pen in a Moleskine plain journal
Location: At home
Note: So many things going through my head regarding Remembrance Day ~ because it doesn't mean just one thing to me so... in the end I chose to illustrate a floral tribute to those who have stood & served in any capacity defending the rights I enjoy as a Canadian citizen.
"I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to stand for what I think is right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country."
~ John Diefenbaker
At the hairdressers'. While I was waiting for my appointment I looked at these temporary colours. Next winter I might try some.

Hard to choose a favourite from the images I took of Vica but this is probably it. When I've gotten round to processing them I'll stick the rest online too.
The introduction of New Coke in 1985. The biggest mistake in modern US history. My parents, who hated Pepsi, willingly became Pepsi drinkers due to this. My mother's rational was if she was going to drink a Pepsi, it was going to be a real Pepsi. Thankfully, Coke brought back the original formula. Beth, born after the New Coke fiasco, still wants to try a New Coke. She's been told to drink a Pepsi.
I bought these frames last summer knowing they were the perfect thing to put the silhouette project in I had been dreaming up for awhile.

And in swine 'flu' or H1N1 related news, the city is over reacting and has shut schools and colleges for a week. The virus is not as fatal as people believe and can be treated effectively.
Taken from the top of the stairs at the back of the National Library. The building is down, the fencing is up, but nothing else seems to have been done to this for months.

The baby blanket took me three months to knit (slow knitter). I finished the knitting a month ago, but just got around to working in the ends and blocking it.
The baby took me nine months to make. I'm not done yet, though--I guess I never will be.
Today, Linda and Dave took me looking for waterfalls. It was a lot of steep steps away from these three bridges (the bottom one was said to have been made by the devil) but it was a lovely walk.
