Was walking up to work today and there was the most intense sun reflection off the street buildings. I took a photo hopping that the figures wouldn’t be over exposed by the sun reflection. To my luck they weren’t, and as a result I love this image, the intense angles of the shadows and building structures framing the photo. All these elements add that little bit more to the image overall, hope you like it.

The "Spice of the Month Club" is the name of this 32 sq in table topper, made in Tucson,AZ. It is a one block tessellation design that I've wanted to try ever since seeing one awhile ago. The spice aisle was my inspiration, and starting from the center out, I chose chili powder, saffron, coriander, nutmeg, mustard seed and cardamom.

The original assignment for the color retouch project was to choose a scanned digital photograph, refurbish it, and then select certain color[s] to emphasize and convey a certain message. For this picture, there were a lot of places that the image had been damaged. There was also a crease along the middle of the image. So, I remedied those using the healing brush and other tools. I also changed the woman's sweater from teal to red, because the goal of my project was to convey the love and warmth of 50 years of marriage. Additonally, I turned the man's shirt from white to yellow. Then I muted the background, but also gave it a bluish tinge in order to complete the triadic harmony (red, blue, and yellow). Hopefully, the slight blue tinge also gives the illusion of making the two people "pop out" a little bit. I whitened the teeth and sharpened the eyes simply for cosmetic reasons: to make the picture look better. I also changed the hue of whole colored section (the man, woman, and their clothes) to a slightly more reddish variety to portray a little extra warmth. I chose warm colors in the foreground to convey the intense love and devotion necessary to be married 50 years. I though the muted background worked especially well for this picture because it shows that when compared with love, everything in the background is secondary. I chose this image because it is of my grandparents. I love them and hopefully I did a good job of conveying the happiness they have enjoyed together for over 50 years.

In this montage I wanted to have a kind of comedic edit to it. What if photographers of that era had access to a smart phone camera. I think that photographer would always have first access at whatever newspaper they worked at to be able to get these pictures quicker. I decided to show the development of cameras from big bulky cameras (older gentlemen), to hand held ones (guy in middle bomber jacket), and then all the way up to a smart phone (kid with smart phone).

Another fire earlier in the morning of the day we stopped leveled the rest of this house which already had a fire in the spring. This shot is looking down into the basement, which is about all that is left.

We finally had a day that was only 105F, so I busted open one of my packs of PX680 FF that have been in my refrigerator since they were released.

It's a nice film. Very warm. These were taken with my SX70 and an ND-50 filter.

All fingers are jointed, as are the knees and elbows. Neck has a swivel/pivot and a ball joint at the base of the head. The head has a small TV screen that displays static.

Anatomy of a Murder (1956) Poster.

Bass is known for his logo designs, but is more importantly known for his posters & title credits for films back in his days. He revolutionized the role of credits in films, and made them MUCH more presentable, and actually signify an importance in the openings of films.

This is one of his posters from the movie Anatomy of a Murder, and as you can see he uses a very simple design. Most of his work is done in just a few colors, usually consisting of black & white. In this poster, he uses parts of a body to express the story with a visual, instead of just relying on the title.
