I think he didnt like my camera, coz he was smiling few minutes back, till i took it out and snapped.

I met Rahees Ahmed, while i was taking a walk(, to nowhere actually). He was just kiiling the engine when i walked passed him.its after few more trucks , i stopped and realised, i had just seen my next stanger.by that time he had come down.and knew i was upto something.

He basically hails from the State Of UP.and my next silly question became almost obvious with his answer.question being , So , Ahmed ji, how do u like Bombay?

and he says, I've stayed in bombay since 1971.May be i should be asking you this;)

And now that i look back at this snap, i think i should've asked him a much sensible question , for example that 'mala', the flower string, thing behind him in front of his truck. what was the reason he put it up there?

[NOTE : I know i shouldve reduced the ISO here, but i was in such a rush, not to waste his time, i barley thought about that.]

Cooking almond pancakes. These are delicious served with heated plums. I first made them last week and could not find a way to cook them without them sticking to my pan. Then I tried putting baking paper on the pan - success!

Sixth graders at Nouvel Catholic Central Elementary School in Saginaw spent St. Valentine's Day spreading love as they made fleece blankets for Project Linus, an organization that donated blankets to children in hospitals and shelters or may otherwise be in need.

"They're for any child who needs a warm hug," said Carol Lewis, one of the classroom mothers.

She and Cheryl Golsen-Milka wanted to do a service project as part of the grade's St. Valentine's Day party at school as a way of "sharing love," Lewis said. Using funds from the class's budget set aside for the Halloween and St. Valentine's Day parties, they purchased 17 tie blanket kits and ice cream, calling the celebration "Service and Sundaes." The students cut two pieces of fleece and tied them together to create the blankets. Once completed, the blankets will be donated to Project Linus and given to children around the Tri-City area.

South Porch to the Chancel - the oldest part of the Church - compare with a very similar photograph of the church in the Model Village.

The earliest evidence of a Christian presence on this site in Bourton-on-the-Water goes back as far as 709AD when a wooden church was built on land donated by the local king, centred to the Abbey of Evesham.

1110 AD saw the construction of the first stone church of Norman design. Since then there have been several changes of appearance. Under the chancel (the east end of the church), there is a twelfth-century crypt, said to be connected by a tunnel to the Old Manor House across the High Street.

The only visible part of the old church is the chancel, built in 1328 by Walter de Burhton. The church was then dedicated to St Lawrence, a fourth century Christian martyr; his story is recorded on a window-ledge near the organ.

A drawing of 1780 shows the church with a central tower, between the nave (where the congregation sit) and the chancel. It shows the 'Clapton Aisle, where the present porch is located; this was for residents of Clapton on the Hill during the period when their own ancient church of St James' was for a time derelict. However, in 1784, the Norman church was largely replaced with one in the neo-classical style, with a new heavy tower with clock and bells, still standing today.

Further change came in the 1870's with the construction of the present nave, followed by the North Aisle and St George's chapel, now containing memorials to the dead of the two world wars of the twentieth century. This Victorian legacy includes the nave roof, said to be one of Gloucestershire's finest examples of a king-post roof.

The twentieth century also left its mark with a fine painted ceiling in the chancel, and the ornate oak screen, separating the cancel from the nave. A very fitting contribution from a local poet and artist was added to the west wall at the time of the Millennium.

Today the parish Church remains the focus of a lively worshipping community in the village of Bourton-on-the-Water, extending a warm welcome to visitors.

All that work and it got hung up on the way down. Near the Upper Iowa River.

A sunny lunchtime on Lambton Quay brings the office workers out to eat their lunch in Midland Park.

I'm pleased to say that despite the Burger King you can see in the background, I have never seen anyone eating Burger King or McDonalds here. Along the alley that can also be seen in the background you can buy sushi, Vietnamese, Thai, noodles, satay, sandwiches and wraps, curries, stir-fries, as well as good quality bread and cakes - all from small independent companies mostly with just one or two shops.
