Queste ombre

Queste ombre

che ci parlano di noi,

amiche,

nella luce che si smorza

innocente

e ci accompagnano

ci aspettano

si muovono

ci dicono

I managed to find some time to start a project I have been thinking about loads lately :)

Can you guess what I am making?

A series inspired by the U.S. side of the space race and the beginning of NASA. Each different chapter includes a cover and info page. Layout and design inspiration from old Life magazine pages.

One of the Maunsell forts that stands in the Thames estuary near the Isle of Sheppey. The forts stand in two groups of seven, (one group at Redsands and the other at Shivering Sands), and acted as anti-aircraft gun platforms defending the Thames approaches during WWII.

My TPS365 photo story has come to an end. Like all good Fairy tales there have been good times and not so good times!! Nearly giving up on a few occasions.

This 365 project has given me a visual diary of the year. Many of these pictures would not have been taken if I hadn't taken on this project.

Some days were more difficult than others but I continued to get inspiration by pushing myself to go out of my comfort zone and use a more creative eye.

I tried to look for something new, inspiring me to be more creative with my images. Well some times!!!!! lol

I have learnt more about photoshop and other plugins enjoying building on my own Picketted enhances. (as Marcus would say)

Above all I am inspired by all the other images from the group and on Flickr a world full of inspiration.

Thanks for all your comments and inspiration to keep me motivated.

My wish to you all as Fairy God Mother is keep taking those fab pics and sharing them with me.

I now look forward to next year a little more relaxed with our TPS52 project.

I also want to revisit many images taken this year I didn’t have time to edit to post on flickr.

Happy New Year to you all

P.S You all know what I am going to be doing every day after buying this book in a charity shop today!!!!

Thank you everyone for you comments and favorites. I think it's the cute little subject who made this photo so good.

I had to do the Magazine Cover Project for my Photoshop class. I used my five original Images to create a composite illustration for the cover.

The Heidelberg Project is an outdoor art project in Detroit, created in 1986 by Tyree Guyton as an attempt to bring back life and people in his childhood neighborhood, which at the time had become a dangerous place to walk, even during daytime. He and other volunteers have been working daily all these years to involve children in workshops and developped the whole area with a community garden and a creative art center, amongst others.

Sadly, a series of arson fires started earlier this year and amplified in the second half of november, so that no less than five houses of the project have been destroyed these last weeks. Only three houses now remain, and even if Tyree and the people from the community are not willing to give up, with only that few houses still standing it's unsure how the project will be able to go on.

Taken at the Whitewater Valley Railroad's yard in Connersville, Indiana. The railroad runs short excursions and has a particular train they run that uses only cabooses for passengers. I don't know what they plan for this one, but it wouldn't surprise me that they hope to rebuild it although it probably isn't top priority.

My 52 week project has been on hold for quite some time. This is my first update for ages. The new lady(my daughter) in my life is taking up quite a bit of my time, the focus of my photos and I don't feel happy about putting them on here. I have been taking shots of my family and the new additions to my friend's families, in doing so I have been looking at colour and tone more. So I finally got round to putting a photo up with some tone adjustment.

Here’s my project 2, decided to add some patterns in the curvy shapes ^^

"Go Big or Go Home"

For Week 3's Project Runway Challenge the designers were asked to design a piece for a model on stilts for the first ever outdoor runway show.

For the EtsyMetal Translation:

Since this challenge was all about going over the top, this week make it BIG, over the top, larger and crazier than you would normally do, but still trying to keep it wearable and fashionable.

This BIG bracelet is made from polymer clay. It weighs a mere 9 ounces.

Thank you, EtsyMetal for letting me join the challenge this week!

Colorful swirly cupcakes. Believe it or not I baked these from scratch, modified to make rainbow swirls. It's from a cardamom cupcake recipe, which tastes good but looks bland. It needed color. Lots of color. I used about 10 bowls just to create ten different colors for the swirls. I think I'll try it again with an angel food cake recipe so that I can do lighter colors next time. The batter in this recipe was more yellow than I remembered.

Strobist info:
