Last weekend when I re-visited this "chosen one" for a progress report and update, I was expecting and hoping to find a hint of yellow, the first of the flower buds should be formed I thought. Instead, some Celandine loving beasty had recently paid a visit and munched off most of the young leaves and growing tips. Grrrr, another "Follow this plant through the seasons" project had failed miserably. Not so, for when I took another peak this morning, I discovered a pleasant surprise, Project 2014 is back on again....

my baby recently lost 3 pounds...which isn't a good thing for babies. His pediatrician was also worried. After a week of worrying that he might have serious health problems, it turns out that he just wasn't getting enough to eat....which is easy to fix. But there are too many babies and kids who are sick and don't have easy fixes...and my heart has been aching for them and their families. I'm so so grateful for my kids health and i so badly wish that i could cure all babies and kids from disease and sickness.

Researcher Steve Ackley heads toward a rescue helicopter and dry clothing while on the 1972 Arctic Ice Dynamics Joint Experiment (AIDJEX) Project. As part of the project, scientists collected meteorological and oceanographic data from instruments located at the camps and on floating data buoys. The experiment was designed to collect coordinated measurements over at least one year, in order to have the right combination of data for understanding atmosphere and ice interactions. The submarine USS Gurnard participated by collecting ice draft data from upward-looking acoustical soundings (sonar). Ice draft (the depth of the ice below the water surface) is an estimator of ice thickness.

The AIDJEX project was the first major western sea ice experiment constructed specifically to answer emerging questions about how sea ice moves and changes in response to the influence of ocean and atmosphere. The pilot study in 1972 was followed by the AIDJEX field program in 1975 and 1976.

When I saw these I got close and they reminded me of the fancy gingerbread cookies in Hungry. The white looked like icing to me. These were in a garden box. I composed it this way with a tich of green on the ends to frame it.

Photographs from "Project-X" in the city of Haren in the northern Netherlands. What started as the birthday party of 16-year old Merthe escalated into riots; the Facebook page of the event was not set to private and tens of thousands had invited themselves. Stones, bottles and traffic signs were thrown at the police and the local supermarket was looted.

Part of my final project for "Electron Wrangling for Beginners" class at Machine Project gallery in Echo Park.

My project involved building an optical tape reader out of legos. I mounted an LED and a photo-resistor inside a lego brick (using a Dremel tool and hot glue). Then a built

a black chamber around this sensor, so that the light levels could be controlled.

A paper tape with color bars is fed thru the chamber, using lego "capstans". This produced 10 reliable light levels on the photo resister. After finding that the resister was returning values on a logarithmic curve, I modified the printed color bars so that it would return linear values.

Project Morbidus

I have been wandering around for a long time with the plan to start this never ending project.

This late summer , I finally started to photograph this uncommon objects which normally only appears in a nightmare (not all , maybe a few of them).

People get scared and disgusted when they are confronted with any form of dead and I never understood why, perhaps out of fear for the unknown?

Project Morbidus is a series black and white images of animals and humans died of natural causes.

Sometimes preserved by nature itself and sometimes with the help of man.

I did not made this series to create a horror story, I sincerely hope that you will discover the beauty and power of nature in each image.

Why was the pirate's butt so big?

Because he kept on stealing everyone's booty!

I just realized how long it has been since I last did an addition to the 100 Strangers Project.

This weekend I was in Ithaca taking waterfall photos and this couple asked me to take their photo with their camera. I then realized I hadn't done a 100 Strangers add in a while, so why not now?

So meet Carolyn and Tom. The two are teachers in the Scranton, Pa., area and were up visiting the Ithaca area. They got lucky, too, that the water was flowing, considering the weather we have had this summer.

This shot was taken at the lower falls at Taughannock Falls State Park, just outside Ithaca.

Thanks to Carolyn and Tom for being strangers No. 19!

This picture is # 19 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at www.100Strangers.com

In honour of Project Spectrum Green, I thought I'd share pictures of Julian's nursery. The paint colour is by Behr and is called "limelight."

GAYTM - I spotted this as I walked along Willis Street on my way to meeti friends at The Hop Garden in Mount Victoria. There was a party going on inside the bank (I later learned that a friend of mine was in there). The screen says 'Hello Petal'. It's done up like this because ANZ is sponsoring 'Out in the Park'.
