Final day of KillYourTimidNotion. I quite liked this thing actually. It was short and odd. My favourites!

Can't remember what's actually happening here. Needless to say, I didn't get it.

Dirty Projectors live at the Barbican, first half playing the Getty Address and the second playing songs from Bitte Orca! Really amazing show, grooving to Stillness is the Move and rocking out to Useful Chamber. Good times

The stage itself wasn't anything special, but it was a little creepy at the foot of it.

The Arcadia Opera House was constructed in 1906, one of the first buildings rebuilt after most of Arcadia burned down in late 1905. The opera house was, as the name suggests, a venue for various performers and musical acts, from vaudeville to blackface. As motion pictures grew popular, a screen and projection room was added and movies were shown on a regular basis.

I don't know much about the later history of the place. I assume movies were no longer shown after the late 40s or early 50s and I don't know when the opera house ceased to be a venue. Fortunately, the building is very well-preserved. Small shops occupy the ground floor while the second floor, home to the theater, is now an antique store with a special section dedicated to the history of the Arcadia Opera House.

I don't often take inside pictures, but this place was pretty cool.

Last night it hit me: my projector doubles as an incredible lighting tool. All I had to do was bump up the ISO and the shutter speed and these are all perfect SOOC.

The color comes from the projector light which appears white to the human eye but looks like this when captured at 1/3200 of a second.

Leica MP, Leica Summarit 35mm, Kodak T-MAX 100, Developed with T-MAX developer.

this projector is used at the Science Center in Nagoya Japan which boasts the largest planetarium screen in the world. The facility itself is an impressive giant sphere suspended between two buildings.

Forgot the name of the project. But this one was a single board CPU running Puppy Linux and interface to view presentations / docs / play movies etc. I loved this very much since the kit was just the size of a book. They had plans of using a Mobile charger kind of power supply unit and hence avoided mounting the SMPS into the kit, there by reducing size and weight
