It's a sad man my friend who's livin' in his own skin and can't stand the company. ~Bruce Springsteen

Snake skin is made up of smooth, dry scales. Periodically, their skin starts molting and they literally crawl of their old ones. I think that's pretty powerful, to have the capacity for self-renewal.

Winter is the harshest three months in the year. The air is thin, it's dark out, and the sunless skin dries out, cracks and tears. It's the time that I realize I am built for the tropics. There is an upside to winter though, it gives me time to think of the changes ahead.

Lots of wind and clouds rolling by today as we await Tropical Storm Nicole to make its way across the state.

Daffodil shoots proudly defying last nights snow. Me? I ventured out to one of the garden beds to quickly take this photo and now aim to stay indoors all day. I don't like snow.

I try to go for a walk every day. Today it was rainy and foul, but I did drag myself out later on when the rain had subsided to mere drizzle. Christmas lights look nice in the rain.

I have been offered a film and challenged to use my film camera for a shoot. It must be 25 years since I have used my trusty OM4. Luckily I seem to have stored it reasonably well and, with some fresh batteries, it seems to be fully functional. I will need to read that instuctions book though!

MAY 11th:

jayden's parents bought him an iron man helmet.

His conversation with me:

Jay - "Put it on Lynna."

Lynna puts it on,

Jay waves "Hi Iron Man" :)

HAHAHA.

However, i didn't get a picture of myself, maybe I will on Thursday :)

But I finally got him to put it on!! :)

& Here he is :)

My little man can be so bratty sometimes, but I get over it cuz he is just so darn cute!! <3

24 little hours after yesterday's sunshine, I'm hiding from the rain under a tree. Ugh :o(

Project365 Day 204: Eli was a little bored during the Skype baptism service for his little brother (seen left).

This is how I found my PJ today -- he will play with ANYTHING he can find -- even a crunchy old piece of snow. ::SMH::

At the station. I don't fancy it much

Pull out the ol' f/1.4 50mm lens and shoot some flowers with a shallow depth of field.

Staircase at the citizenM in London.

It was a cool, rainy day - perfect for knitting, lighting a candle and sipping on some tea. The blackberries also made their debut mixed with some cubed peaches.

Strobist: Upended cardboard box with hole cut in the (now) top, Canon 430ex flash on 1/64 power lying on its back under the box, lined up underneath the hole; upended pyrex dish to bridge the hole while allowing the light thrhough; 4 sheets white paper to diffuse and attenuate the flash shooting directly up into the base of the paperweight on top of the pyrex. Cactus triggers. I'm thinking there must be a simpler way :-)

I suppose it would have sounded more impressive if I'd claimed it was white blood cells or something ;-)

Back to the reeds at Lodge Park Lake. It was a bit blowy for this and shortly afterwards it decided to start raining, but I am quite pleased with this image considering.
