Germany - Lubeck: River Trave from St. Petri zu Lubeck

From the 50 metre high lookout platform on the spire of the Peterkirche, which can be reached with a lift, you can look directly on to the market and over the city.

The Trave (IPA: [ˈtʁaːvə]) is a river of Schleswig-Holstein in northern Germany. It is approximately 124 kilometres long, running from its source near the village of Gießelrade in Ostholstein to Travemünde where it flows into the Baltic Sea. It passes through Bad Segeberg, Bad Oldesloe, and Lübeck, where it is linked to the Elbe-Lübeck Canal. It is navigable for sea-going vessels from the Baltic to the Lübeck ports. The road from Lübeck to Travemünde goes through Herren Tunnel, which is a toll tunnel underneath the Trave.

A broken metal serving spoon brought me to these automotive ruins yesterday.

A few months ago the spoon gave up the ghost when the head separated from the handle. It was poorly welded.

Because it was such an effective tool, I had to have it repaired. Miraculously, there's a welder here who will take on any projects, no matter how small.

While the welder restored my spoon to working order, I toured the huge wild garden at the back of his lot. I came across this project car on my return to his shop.

Very inspiring place which feels like it's taken straight out of a sci-fi story.

Sincerely-- their loving father,

Here , I am using toothpicks to close the nail holes on the tracks.

Well, here it goes. Day 1 of the 365 day project.

I was trying to get used to my Aiptek video/camera thingy-majig. Got to get used to the settings and it can be sort of shaky. I also gave the photo some color in photoshop. It was really washed out beforehand.

A problematic project because how does one choose?

I adore all the regions of these Fairelands and will post about 5-6 photos in the next day (before the Fairelands fade back) to showcase those worlds that spoke so very clearly to me for various reasons. My clear favorite will close out this series.

Thank you, amazing Worldbuilders, thank you.

Shown here: The Golden Hour, Worldbuilder Elizabeth Tinsley. All parts of this region are lovely. I am especially drawn to the crystal cave, and the gem-stoned beach where the Memorials were held.

Spent several hours today listening to an excellent reading of A Christmas Carol. The performers were excellent at distinguishing characters and capturing the spirit of this timeless classic. There are Aiofe Lorefield; Gloriana Maartens, Corwyn Allen, and Caledonia Skytower. Through their performance, they raised over 68,000 Lindens for Reading is Fundamental. I highly recommend visiting this sim over the holidays and into early January. Beautifully appointed with lots to do. maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/The%20Dickens%20Project/63...

Well if nothing else the war in Ukraine has taught us

how badly tanks stand up to modern anti-tank weapons. War doesn't happen the way it did 80 years ago.

And in the news today -- the saga goes on:

The UK government must either scrap or fix a troubled modern armoured vehicle programme - or risk compromising national security, a report has said.

A review of the Ajax project by the Public Accounts Committee concluded a "litany of failures" had led to the years-long delays.

So far no operational vehicles have been delivered, despite the 12-year-old project already costing over £3bn.

(£3,000,000,000)

Its already cost three billion pounds!

By comparison 40 grams of Sarin - enough to kill upwards of 75,000 people, would cost about £3,000 to make and the FGM-148 Javelin, a U.S.-made anti-tank weapon costs about $176,000, a Russian T-90 tank costs about £2 million.

Hi everyone. I've been isolating with covid and doing little projects (of course they're little, lol). These are some recent pre-covid ones. Furniture for my 1/48th shabby chic cottage and a 1/12th desk from Bentley House Miniatures.

Hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for the holidays.
