Infantes que forman parte del programa de Atención a la Primera Infancia y Erradicación del Trabajo Infantil, de la Unidad Patronato Municipal San José (UPMSJ), disfrutaron de varias actividades programadas por el Municipio de Quito para celebrar el ‘Día de la Niñez’, en el parque Carollo, al sur de la urbe.
El objetivo de la conmemoración fue recordar que los niños y niñas deben vivir sus derechos para desarrollar sus proyectos de vida.
El alcalde, Pabel Muñoz, resaltó que la actual administración está estableciendo un Sistema Metropolitano que cuenta con tres elementos en protección social: “Primero ayudar a las familias más vulnerables. Segundo, ser un municipio cuidador que establezca manzanas de cuidado en cada una de las administraciones zonales. Estos serán espacios donde las madres podrán acudir y disfrutar de su tiempo libre. El último elemento tiene que ver con promoción social, aquí tendremos el estímulo para esas familias que están en condición de pobreza; se establecerán fondos de capital semilla y al menos cuatro ferias, para el impulso del sector social”.
En el homenaje participaron alrededor de 150 niños y niñas de los proyectos de Atención a la Primera Infancia (modalidad domiciliaria a niñas y niños de 0 a 3 años) y Erradicación del Trabajo Infantil (niñas, niños y adolescentes –NNA- de 5 a 10 años) que se encuentran en situación de vulnerabilidad.

25 volunteers showed up for a fun evening of appreciation on Feb. 9. Volunteers gave close to 3,000 hours in 2016 and helped with completion of 30 projects and helping in the Seedling Tree Nursery.

As part of the Military Reserve Exchange Program, German Air Force Capt. Kai Hannemann toured the 193rd Special Operations Wing Middletown, Pennsylvania, June 13, 2018. Hannemann also toured the other two wings in the commonwealth, along with various units at Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, Pennsylvania and historical sites in the Commonwealth. The Armed Services blood Program hosted a 60th Anniversary and National Blood Donor Month Celebration Jan. 25 at the Defense Health Headquarters in Falls Church, Va. Dr. David Smith, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Force Health Protection and Readiness, was the keynote speaker. Army Col. This morning, a group of Lindenwood University students gave their first tour of Ideal (Dis-) Placements: Old Masters at the Pulitzer, in French. This is the fourth year that Lindenwood French students have used the Pulitzer as a way to practice their second language. The students are first given a tour in English, then French, and then they themselves give tours to high school French-learners.
