The Fall 2010 Student Hackathon brought in hundreds of students from 30 universities to NYU's Courant Institute for 24 hours of creative hacking on New York City startups' APIs.
Selected startups presented their technologies at the beginning of the event, and students formed groups to brainstorm and begin coding on their ideas. Many students worked into the night, foregoing sleep to fulfill their visions.
On Sunday afternoon students presented their projects to an audience including a judging panel, which selected the final winners.
hackNY hosts hackathons one each semester, as well as a Summer Fellows Program, which pairs quantitative and computational students with startups which can demonstrate a strong mentoring environment, a problem for a student to work on, a person to mentor them, and a place for them to work. Startups selected to host a student are expected to compensate student Fellows. Students enjoy free housing together and a pedagogical lecture series to introduce them to the ins and outs of joining and founding a startup.

PRINCESS PROTECTION PROGRAM - Two of the most popular young actresses - Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato - star in the adventure comedy "Princess Protection Program," a Disney Channel Original Movie about two very different girls - a princess from a small kingdom and a small town girl who, when fate brings them together, must team up to help the would-be queen pass for a regular teen. Filmed in Puerto Rico, "Princess Protection Program" premieres Friday, June 26 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel and Family Channel Canada. The "Royal B.F.F. see notes for more details on this body, and i'll have a review up on ph.brhfl.com soon a little review is now ready for reading right here. all in all, this is a pretty impressive camera. it's large by my standards, but small by those of many. for as much functionality is crammed in, i guess it earns its size. fully electronic, no mechanical fallback whatsoever. full range of p,a,s,m exposure modes, buttons for shutter speed selection. no program shift. shutter range from 15" to 1/2000" (plus bulb). decent, though not necessarily complete, readout in finder. shutter fires at 1/1000" until frame one, meaning you probably lose frame zero, odd quirk. feel is pretty solid, but nothing like, say, an mx. shutter sound is rather heavenly. all in all, a pretty sweet camera. the meter switch is really pretty bad on mine, which is a shame.

Better Health ! Better Education!
After the Contemporary Program participants performed on the Henry J. Leir Stage, they sat down to answer questions from the audience. While the dancers are from all over the world and have trained in different programs, their feet tell the same story of hard work, determination, and artistry. Each Saturday, for the next two weeks, the participants will perform a new work by a different visiting choreographer for the Inside/Out performance series.

Water Canyon / Shot Canyon Route
In a place called "The Maze" getting lost could be a concern. We brought maps, compasses, and GPS yet rarely consulted any of that. We followed established routes and didn't go off trail very much.On the slick rock the routes are marked by cairns. Sometimes they're closely spaced as they are here. In some locations there was a dearth of cairns but usually in those places the path of the route was obvious.

Apparently, Bonkers is writing a C program to generate HSL diagrams for color picking. Bonkers has strange hobbies...
Good news! Bonkers found the bug with the HSL to RGB conversion and now things look much better!
