I ended Day 7 of SXSW 2016 (Thursday, March 17) with a couple of SXSW Film screenings. After catching the world premiere of ''Pee-wee's Big Holiday'' at the Paramount Theatre, I headed next door to the Stateside Theatre for Shorts Program 3 -- a series of seven short films.
The films included ''Her Friend Adam'', a Canadian film about a jealous boyfriend; ''Barry'', a comedic gem about a homespun cocaine dealer; ''Crooked 180'', a Dutch film about a teen named Marley; ''Boys'', a Swedish drama about boys in an institution for sex offenders); ''Too Legit'', a short featuring Zoë Kravitz that skewers senate candidate Todd Akins's assertion that women can't get pregnant from rape; ''Quelques Secondes'', a French film about a Parisian home for wayward teens; and ''Hip Hip Hooray'', a U.S. short about a couple's breakup. After the screening, a member of the SXSW Film staff led a Q&A discussion with the filmmakers and actors who were present for the screening.

The Mural Arts Program began in 1984 as a component of the Philadelphia Anti-Graffiti Network, an effort spearheaded by then Mayor Wilson Goode to eradicate the graffiti crisis plaguing the city. The Anti-Graffiti Network hired muralist Jane Golden to reach out to graffiti writers and to redirect their energies from destructive graffiti writing to constructive mural painting.

see notes for more details on this body, and i'll have a review up on ph.brhfl.com soon a little review is now ready for reading right here. all in all, this is a pretty impressive camera. it's large by my standards, but small by those of many. for as much functionality is crammed in, i guess it earns its size. fully electronic, no mechanical fallback whatsoever. full range of p,a,s,m exposure modes, buttons for shutter speed selection. no program shift. shutter range from 15" to 1/2000" (plus bulb). decent, though not necessarily complete, readout in finder. shutter fires at 1/1000" until frame one, meaning you probably lose frame zero, odd quirk. feel is pretty solid, but nothing like, say, an mx. shutter sound is rather heavenly. all in all, a pretty sweet camera. the meter switch is really pretty bad on mine, which is a shame.
The North Charleston Police Department implemented Project S.T.A.N.D (Stop and Take A New Direction) aimed at not just arresting low level narcotics dealers with little or no prior criminal history but to go a step further and help those involved in the activity change their lives for the better. This is program aimed at reducing recidivism through working on all aspects of the criminals’ lives.
This project was the focus of a Dateline NBC special entitled “Intersection” which aired on March 14, 2013.
