During the month of August, UFV International welcomed several short-term training groups from China and Japan. UFV pulled experts from around the university to facilitate seminars and shared knowledge with new and continuing international partners in the areas of wood frame construction, English language training, and administrator and faculty professional development.
At the farewell lunch, attended by Dr. Mark Evered and his wife, Maureen, participants received a certificate of completion to mark their accomplishment.
In collaboration with Canada Wood and China National Ministry of Urban and Rural Housing Development (Mohurd), UFV welcomed nine Chinese instructors from trade schools across China along with seven building company representatives for a three-week program that consisted of 50% classroom instruction, 35% hands-on instruction, and 15% project visits. It was the first program of its kind, with positive indications that the program will grow in the coming years.
As a university nationally recognized for our student-centered approach to education, UFV hosted twenty-three university administrators and nine English language faculty from Harbin Huade University, Heilongjiang University of Finance and Economics, East University of Heilongjiang, Heilongjiang International University. The visit was sponsored by Heilongjiang Modern Education Training Center and the Heilongjiang Association of Private Education. Participants learned from UFV’s senior administration, directors, and international educators on a range of topics from Strategic Enrollment Strategies to developing a teaching portfolio.

O Sistema CNA e a Faesc levaram a comitiva de representantes de embaixadas da 8ª edição do AgroBrazil até o município de São Joaquim (SC), para visitar a Cooperativa Regional Agropecuária Serrana (Cooperserra) e a produção de maçã local.
Os diplomatas da Bélgica, Moçambique, Nigéria, Paraguai, Reino Unido e Uruguai, conheceram o processo de produção de maçã do planalto serrano de Santa Catarina. A cidade de São Joaquim é conhecida como a capital nacional da maçã, cultura que movimenta mais de 50% da economia local.

Greetings from sasrai-Movement
We are in 100% agreement with UNEP belief influencing consumption and production patterns at the local level would have a significant impact at the global level, because resource efficiency facilitates the transition towards a green economy and global sustainable development.
Since 2004 our appeal is we must get each one caring to each particle of resource. sasrai-Movement aimed at every person would have a mindset `save a bit in every step’. Street beggar to state driver will save resource no matter how small it is. Last 11 years we have tried our level best to disseminate the message to people from all works of life.We are thankful to the voter and UNEP for the slogan ‘Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care’. We consider this is institutionalization of our appeal.
To attain the resilient and resource efficient cities; sustainable transport and mobility; and integrated solid waste management, globe in need of resource efficient individual, institution, organization finally the government. To materialize the utmost need, we are in needing voice from each corner of globe. Since 2011 we approached to the honorable minister for environment and forest & minister for education of Bangladesh to have an initiative to keep a sasrai banner in each educational institution in honor of world environment day. Based on our appeal honorable Divisional Commissioner of Chittagong passed a request to all Deputy Commissioner of his division to do the same.
Bringing behavioral and attitudinal change is the toughest job and we have no chance to spare a single second. Nature demands absolute care that includes concerted, cooperative and collaborative effort. UNEP could have an initiative to get each UN office and official - resource efficient first. And keeping a sasrai banner at each office gate across the globe for one week June 03 to 07 in honor of World Environment Day could be the first step.
Scientists estimate that humans will consume twice as many resources as the planet can support by 2050. At the rate things are going, the Earth in the coming decades could cease to be a “safe operating space” for human beings. The Planet is in Need of Each Creature Equality, Gender Equality and `sasrai’ Living (Stop Consumption Slavery or Stop Advertisement Administered Lifestyle). Albert Einstein opine "Those who have the privilege to know have the duty to act."

Virginia Army National Guard Soldiers from the Hampton-based 1st Battalion, 111th Field Artillery Regiment and the Portsmouth-based 2nd Battalion, 183rd Cavalry Regiment demonstrate some of their weapons, equipment and vehicles to campers at the ninth annual Virginia National Guard Youth Camp July 23, 2014, at Camp Pendleton in Virginia Beach. The weeklong camp, presented by the Virginia National Guard Family Programs Office, offers the children of Virginia military members a wide variety of outdoor and indoor activities, including swimming and fishing, arts & crafts, classes on flag etiquette, science and the environment, and trips to Ocean Breeze Water Park, the Virginia Aquarium and Busch Gardens.
