Why sign their death? Why exterminate them?

The early 393 led me to the start path, chasing through Mechanic Falls, Oxford, Paris and Bryant Pond. Here at Mechanic Falls, you can already see the light starting to draw lower, so the challenge again this time of year is to get some great parting shots but luck was with me today as I had light all the way through Oxford. Seen at the 'Dish' Apartment in downtown Mechanic Falls with a bit of hustle.

Georgia wildflowers grow alongside an exit ramp. This is part of the Georgia D.O.T.'s Wildflower Program which began in 1974 when Virginia Hand Callaway started the movement to plant and protect wildflowers on the roadsides. Later, former First Lady Rosalynn Carter met with Lady Bird Johnson to discuss the highly-successful Texas Wildflower Program. Following the trip, the Georgia D.O.T. enthusiastically endorsed the program for implementation here.
Not only are they pretty - and sometimes stunning - to look at, the program also helps to restore and preserve native flora, and because these native flowers are already adapted to soil and climate conditions, they need little to no maintenance.

A page from the official program of the Second Atlanta Pop Festival,1970. This program was subject to change and it did. Everyone started late and many played at a different time from what was shown here. The music went until the early hours of each morning. I was a big fan of Jethro Tull but he was a no show. The Allman Brothers did start and end the show but I did not get any pictures of them - they were no so famous in my neck of the woods at that time. Jimi Hendrix did play on the fourth of July with a big fireworks show.
This is a contemporary photo of the original tabloid size program printed on newsprint. The 4 photos of the program in this set reflect the complete program except for some advertisements that I did not photograph.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled program! After my previous street photo upload, I'm happily back to long exposure monochromes! Only 3 days ago, I was writing about how, lately, I've had no patience for processing and, all of a sudden, I'm back in the game. Funny how these things work!
This week, I've suddenly rediscovered why I just adore b&w photography. There's just such an amazing emotion that is evoked when I look at a really good b&w photo. Yea, I dabble in the odd colour image or two when I'm feeling a little stale, but b&w is really where it's at for me.
This image is probably one of the darker ones I've done and it's inspired by one of the best b&w photographers around these parts - Andy Brown. He is the king of the dark moody monochrome. Do check out his work if you can.

This is really different from the work that i have been producing lately, But it seems like i have one decent conceptual piece every week and half or so . It would be cool if i could create more conceptual photos everyday but i just cant seem to find the time to set everything up.
And i guess the concept behind this photo is all explained in the title.
I really appreciate any constructive feedback/ critiques :)

The Bricklink Designer Program (BDP) is similar to LEGO Ideas, where votes are tallied to see if LEGO will produce the set, only the final design won't look much different than the original submission with BDP. They want the fan designs to remain as unchanged as possible when they are finally produced.
Another key difference with BDP is, there are only a maximum of 20,000 sets produced. So these sets are much rarer and sell out quickly. It is best to follow a project/creator early on to stay informed of when a set will go on sale. This will save you money and regret because after they sell out, they tend to cost a lot more on aftermarket websites.
Here are some key dates:

April - May 2023: LEGO Review Phase
Late May 2023: 5 Designs Announced
February 2024: Crowdfunding Phase

This kākāpō chick was in the able care of hands from the Kākāpō Recovery Program . The photographer was the enthralled witness to this scene.

"Fort Popham is a Civil War-era coastal defense fortification at the mouth of the Kennebec River in Phippsburg, Maine. It is located in sight of the short-lived Popham Colony and, like the colony, named for George Popham, the colony's leader. The site is preserved as Fort Popham State Historic Site.
Construction of Fort Popham was authorized in 1857 as part of the Third System of fortifications but did not begin until 1861. The fort was built from granite blocks quarried on nearby Fox and Dix Islands. It had a 30-foot (9 m)-high wall facing the mouth of the Kennebec River and was built in a crescent shape, measuring approximately 500 feet (150 m) in circumference.
During the closing months of the American Civil War, from October 1864 to July 1865, the fort was garrisoned by the 7th Unassigned Company of Maine Infantry. The 7th Company was commanded by Captain Augustin Thompson, who is best known as the inventor of Moxie soda.
Fort Popham was originally designed to mount 42 heavy guns, a mix of 10-inch and 15-inch Rodman guns, but construction was halted in 1869 with only two of the planned three tiers completed. In the late 19th century, Fort Popham's armament consisted of 36 Rodman guns and some 300-pounder (10-inch) and smaller Parrott rifles. One of the Rodman guns was donated to the town of Bowdoinham to remember its soldiers who died in the Civil War. The cannon is still there. A 100-pounder (6.4-inch) Parrott rifle sits near the fort grounds; it was listed as being at the fort in 1903. The back side of Fort Popham was built with a low moated curtain containing a central gate and 20 musket ports.
War experience showed that masonry forts were vulnerable to modern rifled guns. As a result, in 1869 construction at Fort Popham stopped before the fortification was completed. The fort was garrisoned again after additional work was performed during the Spanish–American War and World War I. In the 1890s Fort Popham received new facilities for a controlled minefield in the river at the fort as part of the Endicott program of improved fortifications." (Wikipedia)

1910 – Isolated oil houses were erected at the following-named stations during the fiscal year 1910 from the appropriation "Oil houses for light-stations:"
1925 – Leroy L. Myers, keeper of Fort Popham Lighthouse, Me., on September 27, while a strong ebb tide was running, rendered assistance to two men who were clinging to the bottom of their dory which had upset near the lighthouse.
Keepers: Llewellyn Oliver (at least 1900 – 1913), Leroy L. Myers (1913 – 1929), Alonzo Morong (1929 – 1935), Eugene W. Osgood (1935 – 1941).
