The Daf 1949 A-1500 Series trucks were replaced by A-1600 truck. It received a new designed cabin in 1959 and a new range of engines. The four-part windshield with a central split was only used in 1959. For the 1960 model cabin the central split disappeared.
The first series had a three horizontal strip front grille, in 1964 reduced to only two strips. Around 1964 the small ventilation openings under the A-pillar were replaced by two small ventilation grilles alongside the cooling grille.
Bodywork of this former fire engine was done by coachwork Kronenburg, Hedel, Holland.

Far right is visible my former 1982 Ford Escort 1300 Van. I just had bought it two months earlier. I used it as a simple mobile-home. In five years time we visited lots of places all over Europe: from Scotland to Italy, and from Portugal to the Czech Republic :-)

An interesting and unusual thing to see, apparently one of 300 built to celebrate the Alfa's success in French production car racing. A little more exotic than some of the 'special editions' I've seen over the years in France....

"Smithfield is a town in Isle of Wight County, in the South Hampton Roads subregion of the Hampton Roads region of Virginia in the United States. The population was 8,089 at the 2010 census.
The town is most famous for the curing and production of the Smithfield ham. The Virginia General Assembly passed a statute defining "Smithfield ham" by law in 1926, with one of the requirements that it be processed within the town limits. Smithfield Foods, a Chinese Fortune 500 company that owns Smithfield Packing Company and others, is the world's largest pork processor and hog producer. The company, based in Smithfield, raises 12 million hogs and processes 20 million pounds of them annually." - info from Wikipedia.
The fall of 2022 I did my 3rd major cycling tour. I began my adventure in Montreal, Canada and finished in Savannah, GA. This tour took me through the oldest parts of Quebec and the 13 original US states. During this adventure I cycled 7,126 km over the course of 2.5 months and took more than 68,000 photos. As with my previous tours, a major focus was to photograph historic architecture.

The Mazda Grand Familia, 818 or 828 depending on market, were originally intended to replace the smaller Mazda Familia to better compete with the Toyota Corolla, Nissan Sunny, and Mitsubishi Colt
The name Mazda Savanna (sometimes incorrectly spelled "Savannah") was used on the rotary-powered model sold in Japan, as a coupe, sedan, and wagon. Internationally it was called the Mazda RX-3. It was smaller and sportier than its brother, the Capella Rotary/RX-2, and was largely identical to its conventional inline-four, Mazda Grand Familia. It was available from September 1971 through 1978 in Super Deluxe coupé, Deluxe sedan, and station wagon forms It originally used a 10A rotary engine like the Mazda Familia Rotary Coupe/Mazda R100, but US cars shared the larger 12A engine from the RX-2. The smaller engined version has the internal model code S102A, while the larger one is known as the S124A.
The first Mazda Savanna went on sale in September 1971 and remained in production until 1977. It was sold as the Mazda RX-3 internationally when installed with the rotary engine and was otherwise largely identical to the inline-four-equipped Mazda Grand Familia. Externally the Savanna and export RX-3 was differentiated from its piston engines sibling by a nose panel with dual round headlights and a more prominent and pointed honeycomb grille. Initially in all markets except North America all cars were designated S102A and came with the 982 cc. The Series 1 was replaced by the Series 2 in September 1972, most likely as a result of stocks of earlier production vehicles remaining unsold and available in the UK into 1975.
In mid 1973, Mazda released a visually updated Savanna in Japan, though drivetrain choices remained the same as before both available in twin distributor form. Externally the entire front end sheet metal was revamped and a different set of taillights with twin brake lights

This musical phenomenon comes to Theatr Clwyd for the first time thanks to Tip Top Productions.
Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber based on Old Possum’s Book Of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot. “Prologue – Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats” additional material written by Trevor Nunn and Richard Stilgoe; ”Memory” additional material written by Trevor Nunn.
The Jellicle Cats come out to play on one special night of the year—the night of the Jellicle Ball. One by one they tell their stories to Old Deuteronomy, their wise and benevolent leader, who must choose one of the Cats to ascend to The Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a whole new Jellicle life. Among the candidates are the aging theatre cat, Gus; the rocker, Rum Tum Tugger; and the once-glamorous Grizabella, now but a faded memory of her former self.
Boasting a score that includes Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats, Mr. Mistoffelees and Memory, this compelling fable takes audiences to a fantastical world that can only exist in the theatre. Cats has been performed worldwide and translated into over 20 languages. The original West End production ran for 21 years and the original Broadway production ran for 18 years
