In a few weeks I will be showing my final project for Art & Design course; I was asked to create my own outcome and brief therefore I took liberty and decided to create a project based around design at LEGO. Some of you may know I’m very enthusiastic about the prospect of for working as a designer at LEGO, this would help me get familiar and practice the work process as a real LEGO designer would. Step by step you will discover the background of the design process in The LEGO Group, It will also contain a LEGO set I designed myself for the project; such as the experiments, sketch models and sketches. Below is a teaser of what is coming.
We would like the LEGO Creator team to design successful new products for 2015, you should be able to differentiate your new products from others on the market by making them unique. Systematic Creativity is about using logic and reasoning along with playfulness and imagination, to generate ideas that are new, surprising and valuable. We want to maximise the positive impact we have on children and provide children with high quality and creative play experiences; using consumer feedback to improve and strengthen the new LEGO Creator products which will be sold in 130 different countries on the market. Our marketing strategy from 2014 will continue throughout 2015 as it proved to be very effective were we had several models at the same price point, we want to provide a variety of strong affordable models to the consumers.

These decorative plates were originally painted with idyllic winter scenes. I sandblasted the surface to reveal varying degrees of bare unprimed porcelain. Drips of the original pattern give a sense of the original design.

It’s been quite a week for eco product designer, Taryn Zychal, the 25 year old green queen behind Recycling Zychal, a company specializing in the rescue and repurpose of broken, discarded umbrellas.
After leaving her fulltime job at a marketing agency to tend to and further expand her rapidly growing company, Zychal received an email requesting two custom made dog coats to be given to Francesca and Sharky, Martha Stewart’s infamous French Bulldogs as gifts.
“It was my pleasure to make these coats for Martha’s dogs, she’s been an influence on me and my work for quite some time now, and to know that her dogs will be walking around in my hand crafted dog coats is just an absolute honor”, says Zychal, who joked that she was waiting for Ashton Kutcher to run out and tell her she had been Punk’d when she dropped them off at the Martha Stewart Studio this past Wednesday.
The coats she made for Martha’s dogs are the first two of a brand new line of Upcycled Umbrella Winter Dog Coats made from broken umbrella fabric, your choice of a vintage, handpicked, or eco-fi felt lining, which is made from 100% post consumer recycled plastic and insulated with batting that is also made from recycled plastic bottles. These coats will be officially available to purchase October 12th on the Recycling Zychal etsy store, but Zychal says she will fulfill orders requesting the eco-friendly batting prior to the launch date.
Great wall clock! Battery operated, using it at the moment in our kitchen. It's a bit noisy, though.
