then acts as a pickup, amplifying the sound enough to make it audible. (Record shown,

Recar is a new car brand which reclaims, reconditions and reincarnates older cars that have been perceived as nearing the end of their active service. Parts from donor cars are swapped onto a base vehicle to create a unique aesthetic and driving experience, tailored to the owner's preference. Recar looks at challenging the business model of the automotive industry, as well as the behaviours and attitudes towards 'near end of life' vehicles.

This was for my 2nd Year FMP.
Chicago set with a slightly blue hue.
The set was made with plywood. The detailing was made with puffy paint. The detail, with the Palace Theatre's logo, under the proscenium arch was made with card. The curtain was made with a sewing machine.
Presenting my LEGO Architecture interpretation of Caerphilly Castle; a commissioned model for Cadw with Little Big Art.
I’ve captured and replicated the architectural essence of Caerphilly Castle, such as the iconic leaning tower and the ruins across the landmark.
The structure is designed to provide a true-to-life colour and relative scale depiction adding an extra dimension and feel of authenticity to this detailed recreation of Wales’ biggest castle!

How Can Design Nurture Empathy's Innate Partiality? Within this project four possible approaches to empathy are explored, those being creating emotional awareness, nurturing curiosity, inspiring imagination as well as focusing on sameness, while embracing diversity. It is speculated that tackling one or more of the proposed intervention points, will help building towards a society that is better equipped for ‘Moments in Empathy’ - temporary emotional states that allow one to feel and think with someone else, being aware of a greater context than the given moment - to take place within. This is tested and explored through designed games.

For Graphic Design One we have to design a poster for a Smithsonian exhibit taking place Summer 2008. I chose the vintage product packaging exhibit. This is my rough sketch of my final project. I plan to have 3-4 posters with themes including, but not limited to Breakfast Cereal, Personal Hygene Items, Food, Cleaning Supplies, and several other ideas. I am having a lot of trouble with copy. I have done some mind maps, but it doesnt seem to help. Any comments would be great...as always!

In my thesis project ‘Citizenship in the Digital Era’ I have used design as a medium in order to explore emerging societal shifts brought on by new technologies, increased connectivity and changing national identities. My project looks at the emergence of a post national citizen and how this could indicate a near future of post nationality. By giving form to provoking artefacts and experiences that could exist in a possible future I have engaged this citizen in a discussion about what the interaction could both look and feel like. The exploration has culminated in a set of guidelines for how new interactions between citizens and governments can be designed in order to meet the challenges of a possible post national future. ot.torresen@gmail.com
'Abloom' addresses the decline of honeybees and other key pollinators in an urban setting. It provides an artificial nectar based ink in the form of art work around the city in order to raise awareness within the public as well as stopping pollinators from starving.

A portable computer full scale model I designed and built at industrial design school in the 1980's.
We were given sizes of components - a crt video sceen, 2 floppy drives, a printer, keyboard, the "guts" etc.
Computers were not very portable then - the laptop did not exist, or was not commercially available yet I don't think.
Looking at this now it looks like a prop from "star wars" !
