Unfortunatley the 24 hr delay after iodisation was a mistake with this paper, see the scan with transmitted light, serious fogging could be seen emerging after exposure
15 min exposure bright day blue sky f/6,3 whole plate
Winther's tannin process with Sumac extract
Pre-silver brushed 5,2% AgNO3, dried iodised in 4% KJ for 10 min followed by 2 water baths of 10 min each (pure water) blotted off and dried
Sensitized just before exposure with sumac extract 28 drops, AgNO3 14% 7 drops, gl. acetic acid 2 drops made double.Exposed moist in a glass sandwich.
Developer brushed and sprayed with 25% alcohol for 1 hr 10 min
Developer consists also of sumac extract 28 drops, AgNO3 14% 7 drops, gl. acetic acid 2 drops made double. After brushing sprayed and left wet face up under cover, brushed also just with Sumac extract saving the silver nitrate for later to boost density.
Short wash before 2 x 10 min hypo and 1 hr running water bath
Canson Marker paper was pre-silvered and iodized the day before exposure and processing.
The paper behaved well when prepared pre-silvering and iodisation on the same day as exposure and processing.

An image processed into a mozaic. Each square contains a circle which covers half the square. The square (background) and the circle are colored different colors which average to the average color of the image in that square. The goal was to select colors as dissimilar as possible, but that is not quite what is done here, since one extremity will always be a "corner" color, of which there are only 8, and so the result would lack the color variety that this one has.

A DM based 23rd TASS OA-10A undergoing the preservation process at the AMARC arrivals area in July 1992.
The plastic spraylat coating has been applied to the canopy and the black undercoat can be seen covering the engine intakes.
23rd TASS OA-10As were used in the Forward Air Controller role and saw action in Operation Desert Storm. OA-10s are no different to 'standard' A-10s, the designation refers to the a/c's role rather than equipment fit.
Artists at Work: Process Recorded, an experimental exhibition that explored different approaches to the creative process and the way work is archived.
Each day, one of our ten participating artists undertook a performative piece within our Multi-Purpose Hall here at the KCC. Every session, was open to the public and recorded live and broadcast to the KCC video screens: subsequently creating an archive of the 10 days work. The focus was on the artists’ responses to the space, time, camera and audience afforded to them through this exhibition.
Upon completion of this project the 10 day creative process was examined with an artists’ talk followed by a celebratory party.

The scan of this print did not work as well as I wanted it to but this is one of my fav landscape pics, taken from the dirt road running behind the Langeberg Mountains, past Tradouw towards Heidelberg. The "sheep" on the hill are actually rocks; the colours are all distorted because of the cross processing.

Early in the render process. Probably too much red. After a few hundred frames, I think the red is going to overwhelm. Whatev. I will let it ride.
