I think it was yesterday that I updated the iPhone 11 ProMax os to the latest iOS 16....wishing to learn its features in the next month before my new iPhone 14 ProMax arrives, don'tchknow.....
And I think the new OS changes to the camera sure affected the close up results in this series of photos of the tangerines!
They are sweating! I did not wash them, but took them from the fridge produce drawer and set them on the stainless countertop. Then I ate a couple of them, small things, seedless and sweet.
And I looked at their increasing dampness. Looked at the detail of the sepal, hinting at its journey from flower to fruit.
I looked at the stem, with the leaves suggesting a line of music with green notes springing up.
When I looked at the photos, I said to myself,
"Self, this looks good enough to eat."
Today I visited the "Herrenhäuser Gärten" in Hannover and searched for Collembola. In the "tropical greenhouse" I found a single specimen of Sminthurinus trinotatus first, then I spotted some Sminthurides sp. on waterplants floating on the pond. I guess these are Sminthurides nr penicillifer. On a pond outside were some that were defenitely this species, I saw Deuterosminthurus bicinctus for the first time today, too, A stunning looking species :)
This one is from the greenhouse pond.
I took this with the Camera + 2 app on my iPhone 11 ProMax. On macro.
The shards of two Swarovski snowflake ornaments were saved from the trash very carefully, last Christmas, when they fell on porcelain tile. I recently joined Macro Monday group, which set GLASS as this week’s subject.
Just trying now w/o entering a photo......so many great photos in that group, and I’m a shoot-from-the-hip “witness”....
The Moulton Headwaters is a body of water that feeds the main irrigation canal through town during almond season. It is filled in April and runs continuously until early fall. I take many spectacular sunrises and sunsets at this location. I’ve been watching the levels drop. Today when I crested the hill it was empty. This is a huge, fenced, reservoir about 15 feet deep when full. Being fenced (I have a way in) this is a beautiful secluded spot when full. Different and spectacular every day. Today I am literally sitting on the bottom for my goodbye shot till next year!
