"Close Encounters Of The Buzz Kind" :-)

Had the privilege of witnessing a rare phenomenon in our own back garden last Bank Holiday Monday!

Our garden birds suddenly gone quiet and disappeared in a flash!!!

Then, out of nowhere, a massive swarm of honey bees descended from the sky onto one of our pine tree in the back garden! Within a matter of minutes, a large mass of bees was formed and occupied one of the top branch and the truncate of the tree. The noise was unbelievable! it sounded just like watching motorcycles circuit racing event from a distance!

The swarm settled and stayed for few hours before taking off to the sky again and left!

I managed just a few shots of them from a distance.

this meeting of the rivers Tweed and Teviot in Kelso is the site of the world famous Junction Pool. It is where many anglers dream of fishing for salmon and many thousands of pounds are charged for the privilege.

My little cousin, Chloe! I had the privilege of taking her photos the other day, and this outtake turned out to be my favorite. Love sweet moments like this, so very much. Taking pictures of kids is my VERY favorite <3 all you have to do is make them laugh (which is fun) and, walla! you have an awesome picture! :D

It was leased to Privilege Style Lineas Aereas as EC-MIA in Sep-15 and put into temporary storage at Teruel, Spain. The aircraft entered service in Nov-15. In Dec-15 it was wet-leased to El Al Israel Airlines, returning to Privilege Style in early Mar-16.

What do you see behind the face?

Static eyes that follow you around?

Perfect lips that peel and crack?

Hair that doesn't move?

Smooth skin that feels like concrete?

Do you want to see what's inside?

Do you really?

See, yes. Just don't feel.

I usually don't do this, but I'm expecting to see some comments saying things about how I'm already white and oh you have nothing to worry about but I just want you to keep in mind I am 100% Colombian, I am a Latina, and I'm insanely proud of this. This is for everyone out there who's different, and because of this could be facing certain injustices in certain places. This being said, you can interpret it as you'd like, it's just what I'm currently feeling after seeing and reading so many things which honestly make no sense to me. Whatever you are, white, black, Latino, Indian, native, oriental, aboriginal, etc, anything, love yourself and fight hard for the rights we all have. We're all the same, regardless of our skin color or heritage.

March 13th turned out to be a very special Sunday, I had the privilege of spending the morning with Gao Gao. Gao Gao is or resident adult male Panda and has fathered 5 of the 6 panda cubs born at the San Diego Zoo.

Female Sand Lizard (Lacerta agilis) Egg Laying. A real privilege to encounter a Sand Lizard laying eggs in the wild. The Sand Lizard is the United Kingdom's rarest native lizard; it is totally harmless to man. In the UK, the Sand lizard is a specialist of heathland and dune habitats, and native populations can be found in the south of England in the counties of Dorset, Hampshire, Surrey, West Sussex and on the Lancashire coast at Sefton. A long-standing introduced colony is located on the inner-Hebridean island of Coll and recent re-introductions have expanded its range to the Kent and Welsh coasts. Like all UK reptiles, the Sand lizard is a carnivore, whose diet is mostly restricted to invertebrates, although any small moving creature may be instinctively taken, sometimes including their own young.Sand lizards grow to a length of about 8 inches (20cm), with the tail accounting for about half of this length. They can reach an age of twenty years in the wild, in exceptional circumstances. An individual Sand lizard can have a home range of between 85-2000m2. The Sand lizard is about 8 inches from nose to tail, with a robust build. The length of the tail makes up about half of the total length. Sand lizards have two pale lines running along the dorso-lateral surface of the body. Between these stripes there is usually a camouflage pattern of black/dark brown and a lighter tan colour. Ocelli (white spots or short stripes running along the dorsal surface) are common, and usually run in a broken line down the very centre of the back, but it is not uncommon to have groups of upto 3 white spots running across the back, between the dorso-lateral stripes. There is almost never a broken dark line running down the centre of the back, as often found with common lizards.Throughout the mating season (mid-April to mid-May), the male develops brilliant green flanks. The combination of this green, with the mottled brown back is unmistakable. If you see a greenish lizard that is uniform in body colour, then you have probably seen a Common lizard. Even out of the mating season, the male retains some green, although much diminished. The flank mottling of the male is finer with more black colouration than the female. Males sport a much larger head and deeper throat than the female of the species. In spring, the difference between the genders is clear. Males develop striking green flanks, and can be readily seen on mounds, defending their territory. Pairs of animals can often be seen basking together. Out of the breeding season, the differences are more subtle. Males have a stockier appearance, with heavy-set jaws and larger heads. The markings along the flanks of the male are more crowded, with a series of black crazing, compared to the more brown female, which has regular, larger ocelli along her flanks.Another useful tip, which relies upon the head of the male being larger, is that the eye of the female Sand lizard is usually situated about half way along the head. The eye of the male is situated about a third of the length of the head, closer to the neck. Text courtesy of Surrey ARG. Photo by Nick Dobbs 20-05-17 Dorset

My final two pictures today come not from Southaven’s Sam’s Club but its new Burlington store, which as you can see here, has finally had the privilege of receiving its new sign! It looks pretty nice, too, and even made sure to include “baby” in its string of words underneath the logo so that a separate Baby Depot sign wouldn’t have to be included elsewhere on the exterior, as I talked about last time. I was hoping to get a better angle from a spot off to the right from where I was standing for this one so that the sun wouldn’t interfere as much with my shot, but there were too many people parking in spaces over there for me to do that. What’s funny is that they were most all parking to enter this store, only to either walk up to the door and see that they weren’t open yet or be told that by other drivers in the parking lot :P
