Marstrand is a seaside locality on the Swedish west-coast.y, Sweden. It had 1,319 inhabitants in 2010 and has held city privileges since 1200. The most striking feature about Marstrand is the 17th-century fortress Carlsten, named after King Carl X Gustav of Sweden. The town got its name from its location on the island Marstrandsön.
During the last quarter of the 18th century Marstrand had the free port status, granted by the King Gustav III. Marstrand is a popular sailing resort in summer time. It is also the venue of the annual Match Cup Sweden, a match race sailing competition.

Que poca cosa representa un hombre
cuando cobija su ser en sus ciudades,
orbes eternas son colmenas vestidas
con fríos muros de acero cementado,
donde la familia humana desaparece
en altos edificios brillando con la luz,
donde cada ventana cobija la estirpe
emparedada en casas sin naturaleza.
Cuando el primor es vivir de la tierra
esa materia donde brota tu alimento,
un verdor que extasía tu viejo ánimo
donde crece la esperanza al humano,
donde tus vástagos trabajan severos
auxiliando a rescatar a la naturaleza,

I had the privilege of being born and growing up in Florida. The first half of my childhood was spent in Perry. Perry is located 50 miles south of Tallahassee. It was like Mayberry RFD. No one could have asked for a nicer place to live in and I will always cherish my friends and all of the fond memories I made there. But, as fate would have it, my father's job decided we needed to make a move. This was to Panama City Beach. Here, I finished growing up. Talk about living the dream! Sand on my feet and swimming in the Gulf of America was my way of life everyday, My mother loved the beach as much as we did. She grew up on Pensacola Beach. Now, I live in a town just 50 miles north of Panama City Beach. I still visit Perry often and I'm just a short drive from PCB. My life has been good for the most part, but, like you, I have had my fair share of bumps too. I hope you like this picture of the beach that my mother spent much of her time on as a girl. (Sadly, she passed away 2 years ago.) As you can see, it was taken with my Apple 4 phone, so it's an older photo. But, older doesn't necessarily mean inferior, does it? I mean, I'm getting older, but, I like to think I'm better than ever, even with the aches and pains! :-)

On Dec. 4, 2016, Beth Rosengard had the privilege of participating in a workshop called "Cameras and Dancers" where photographers were paired with dancers for the opportunity to shoot them in a myriad of poses. The location for the shoot was Union Station – what seems like a beautiful building that I must see in person one day.
Anyway, her marvelous take on the day can be viewed in her: Cameras and Dancers album.
She graciously has allowed me access to a number of her original shots, of which I have processed in a manner I am calling Blart and Dancers ('blart' - blank canvas art).

I was on my flight back home from Vancouver. As the Boeing 777-300 jetliner took off from Vancouver International Airport and headed North West over the Pacific Ocean, I saw this magnificent view with some mist under the quickly diminishing late afternoon sunlight. I was lucky to have this window seat towards the tail end of the aircraft, and to have the camera close at hand :-)
