During the "Printmaking in the Age of Rembrandt" exhibition at the Currier Museum of Art, Manchester, NH (on view September 29, 2012- January 6, 2013) visitors were invited to carve prints throughout October. Those plates will then be inked and printed during a "Steamroller Printmaking" event on Sunday, November 4 where we'll use an actual steamroller (yes, we mean the road construction vehicle) to produce multiple large-scale prints. These prints will be displayed in the museum's Community Gallery and Art Center.

Trigonometry-inspired linocut print.

This 't' monogram linocut features a T.Rex, the mighty Tyrannosaurus of course. It is printed in an array of greens. This is an open edition print on Japanese kozo washi (or mulberry paper). It is available in a variety of colours! Each sheet is 14.8 cm or 5â…ž inches square.

Tyrannosaurus rex (rex meaning "king" in Latin, "tyrant lizard"), commonly abbreviated to T. rex, is a well known giant Cretaceous dinosaur with tiny arms, which roamed North America up to the end of the dinosaur age at the the Cretaceous–Tertiary mass extinction event, 65.5 million years ago. Tyrannosaurus rex was one of the largest land predators of all time.

Swap host sent us some 4" X 6" Presto Foam printing plates to use in this swap. This one was printed with the marker method i learned about while poking around online (use water soluble markers on the plate then print onto damp paper). Also part of my #100DaysOfViolet(s) project.

So... I'm in a printmaking class and I'm having far too much fun taking process photos.

This is what happens when I try to make a hard-line minimalist woodblock print: Frusturation as ink gets in the beautiful white space, followed by the construction of complex masks to make the ink behave.

Department of English Associate Professor Nicholas Regiacorte and student assistant Lily Lauver '21 use the press at The Box to print a broadside for Friday's Caxton Club Reading.

I haven't got these quite finished yet, but I thought this proof was interesting. Shaped plates with drypoint, printed on handmade tinted paper, total size about 10" x 8".

This is a Demy Albion. It stands about six foot two inches tall. It needs a good clean down and then I will make the fine adjustments needed to print my engravings.
