Princess Leia Bust

Princess Leia Bust: As the youngest senator ever in the Imperial Senate, Star Wars Princess Leia ran a number of "diplomatic aid missions" that were fronts for Rebel resupply missions. She used her diplomatic immunity and her consular ship to gain access to restricted areas. One such mission saw Leia's ship intercepting vital Imperial plans stolen by Rebel spies. Armed with the Death Star plans, Leia was given a mission by her father to find one of the Republic's greatest heroes and recruit him into the Alliance.

PERSONAL FUN FACT: Ah, this Ariel is a doll I've longed for since childhood. I adored the Princess Party collection when it was in stores in the early 2000s. I ended up buying only Belle and Jasmine though. I had contemplated on so many occasions getting another doll from this line. I also wanted the accompanying playset. I thought all the girls were absolutely gorgeous, and I adored their super festive attire. Admittedly, Ariel dolls from this era don't look as innocent as you expect her to be. Something about her facial screening makes her look a tad sultry. But I've grown to really like this unique take on her, especially since I had Forever Hair Ariel as a kid. Anyways, over the years since I got back into collecting, I even hunted for Princess Party dolls online. I just never got around to pulling the trigger. In the wild, I found just Snow White, much to my disappointment. That's why I simply couldn't leave this Ariel behind when I encountered her at Saver's. It was November 2024. Colleen and I had a 20% off coupon that was going to expire at the end of December. Her friend had given it to her earlier in the year, after making a donation. I had forgotten about the coupon, until I unexpectedly found it. I wanted to check out the winter coats too, so it seemed like a good time to venture out to Saver's. It's in the city...we live in the middle of nowhere...so we only get to go a couple times a year. Anyways, that day there were quite a few dolls in the toy section...but they were outlandishly priced. $5.49 was what most of them were marked at individually. I saw naked ones for that price, as well as some that were majorly damaged (like a Barbie with a snapped off, missing arm and a Disney Anna with a huge hole in her torso). Although there were quite a few dollies of interest, the prices were a major turn off. I noted Ariel hanging in a bag by her lonesome. As soon as I turned it over to see which doll was inside, I saw her unique pastel makeup and her choker. I instantaneously knew this was the Princess Party gal. She was dressed in a Sweet Treats Barbie shirt and some black Jean Fashions pants. I checked all the other baggies, hoping someone would be wearing her factory gown. Sadly, I wasn't able to find it. I debated for several minutes if it was worth buying this girl for almost $6 when she didn't have a stitch of her original attire. Plus, one of her arms was pretty mangled. Normally, I wouldn't have even considered purchasing her, but I love this line so much I couldn't resist. Colleen agreed that we couldn't leave such a gem to rot at Saver's. After a spa day, this gal looks splendid. It took a while to find a party themed dress she could borrow. She has a 1966 body mold, unlike my other Ariel dolls (who use either the 1995 Skipper body, the 1999 Barbie one, or the hobbit Barbie one). So I had virtually no Ariel clothes in my hoard that would fit her. But I remembered this dress...I was pretty sure I had two of them (1980 Happy Birthday Barbie is wearing the other). It's actually pretty darn convincing. The pastel colors work wonderfully with her red hair and makeup...who knew!

Once upon a time there was a princess who liked horses very much. So on one day she ran from her castle and went on the field to see the wild horses. She changed her princess clothes, so no one would recognize her. Getting to the field, there was a troop of horses grazing some dry grass. She approached gently, not to scare them away. Looking more carefully she saw that there was a horse family, there was the father, the mother, a teenage horse and a younger baby horse. She wanted to talk to them but she did not speak Horseish.

As she was admiring them from a close distance, the baby horse, curious as all babies are, came to her wondering who she was and wanting to see if he could eat those lovely flowers drawn on her dress….
