Princess Alice Memorial in Old Woolwich Cemetery.
On the night of September 3rd 1878, the ship was heading back to town from a pleasure trip when just before Woolwich there was a collision with the Bywell Castle, another ship.
It was believed there were 700 men, women and children on board. Around 550 of these were drowned of which 120 were buried near the memorial. 23000 people contributed to a sixpenny public subscription for the memorial.
The inscription on the memorial is:
"It was computed that seven hundred men, women, and children were on board. Of these about five hundred and fifty were drowned. One hundred and twenty were buried near this place."
On another panel "Erected by a national sixpenny subscription, to which more than twenty-three thousand persons contributed.".

Her dear husband asked for a surprise cake, both for him and Kathy. The things I knew were that she loved weddings and princesses, and that her Birthday party was about pink, silver, red, love and sparkle. That was enough for me!
