We got a bit 'off-topic', and took a lot of photos with Kenji & Keira as a prince & princess! The'castle' in the background is actually a model of the globe theatre I made as a social studies project at high school.
BOX DATE: 2003
MANUFACTURER: Mattel
DOLLS IN PACK: Barbie, Krissy
VARIATIONS: Blonde; African American
BODY TYPE: 1999; molded dot panties; one bent arm; bend & snap knees
HEAD MOLD:1990 "Asha"; pierced ears
PERSONAL FUN FACT: I mostly bought this Barbie as a kid just because. When I say "just because" I mean I literally picked her out because she was African American and packaged with a Krissy. I loved the Caucasian set too, and it was actually one of the few occasions where I thought that the blonde Barbie was a little more attractive than the African American one (they are both stunning though). Dad let me pick this doll out at Toys 'R' Us one weekend during our usual toy shopping outing. It must have been sometime in 2003--I remember playing with the castle upstairs in Colleen's current bedroom, which at the time was vacated since Memeré had just moved out. I honestly don't think I ever played with this Barbie doll or her Krissy counterpart. But I enjoyed owning them nonetheless. Although I would have denied it fiercely back then, as I thought "collecting" was a bad word, I really was a kid collector. I wanted this because as I mentioned before, I always had a fancy for African American dolls, sister sets, and Krissy dolls. I have no regrets about getting Barbie and Krissy as a kid, because I enjoy them a ton as an adult, and this isn't one of the Krissy/Barbie packs I've seen secondhand in the years I've gotten back into dollies.

She is so chic, graceful and elegant in her purple ballgown. Her angelic face, her gorgeous blond hair, her feminine curves and her magnificent wide ballgown skirt all look amazing. I love how the light falls on her from the side, highlighting her face, hair and shiny dress so beautifully. What a classy young lady; she's truly a majestic purple princess.
My six year old daughter drew a princess for my three year old daughter, who likes that sort of thing.

Princess was built by Bagnalls of Stafford in 1942 (works number 2682) and was previously operated by Preston Corporation. Unusually for an industrial tank loco it was fitted with steam heating from new. According to the L&HR website this was for warming banana vans to ensure the fruits were kept at the correct temperature.
