Jake actively primping for his photo shoot.

tagged by ZZ... not sure a 'thank you' is in order though!

1. Sit down.

2. Take a picture of yourself right now. Don't primp, just snap one!

3. Upload it.

4. Tag 5 people to do the same.

i've tagged 5... you know who you are. ;)

so...i overtagged with the 16 things thing and hit up a few folks that have already 16 thinged. in order to try to make things right, i will extra 16 thing and do a combine of the SP project thingy but with my own alterations. i was not sitting down. yes, i did not primp - this is how i was out tonight - and some other things. but here it is. :)

1) i love education so much it is silly. i am in a graduate program (for the 2nd time) and on saturday, i was so excited to be learning again, i felt like i was a kid. i was so effusive about the whole affair it was silly.

2) i am so optimistic that i fail to see reality sometimes. life is full of chances, but not all the chances have a chance to happen. sometimes that pisses me off.

3) my neck popped so loud today i could hear it. not feel it - hear it. when i broke my neck in the car crash, they said the bone chip would re-fuse with the other vert. i cant tell if the popping i feel/hear is muscle stretching over re-fused bone chip that sticks out too far now, or if it is a bone chip that is not fused and is migrating around my spine. and the bundle of nerves. that worries me sometimes.

4) i have put on 8 pounds since the crash and i cant make them go away. i am really unhappy with how i look and feel. really really really.

5) i used to be good on the road bike. mountain bike. climbing wall. kayak. hiking trail. welder. time has been my enemy lately and it is winning.

6) my optimism tells me that i will be good at those things again.

7) i have seen where the mid-atlantic ridge comes above water and across ground in iceland and forms the leading edge of the north atlantic plate.

8) i have crossed the tropic of capricorn. seen the southern cross.

9) nothing beats a warm sun and a warm rock on a cold hike. reptiles have it figured out when it comes to naptime.

10) i outgrew asthma, but on two occasions when i was a kid, i stopped breathing for a little while. i think that clearly explains why i am why i am. have i ever told you why i am the way i am? oh yeah, i just did. damn oxygen deprived brain.

11) mexican food is the goodness. if it is not hot, then i dont know why i showed up. for me, the action is the juice.

12) i have used a mac since 1984. when they first came out. i am really snobby about that. really. snobby. damn i rock.

13) i have about 800 cd's. that is not nearly enough.

14) i have a 4" maksutov-cassegrain telescope and i want so much to have one that is so much bigger. i have a habit of building things i want when i dont want to pay what they want for one already built. i think i will build a telescope sometime this year. a big one. really big. keep your blinds closed.

15) i am thinking about building a pulsejet engine too. keep your ears closed.

16) there is a chance that i might be able to work for an international conflict mediation group in the future. i cant say how much that excites me. there are peacekeepers and there are peacemakers. we need peace.

The pumpkins are primping and prepping for their big night tomorrow -- as Halloween decorations, not just Autumn decorations!

All primped up & posed; to all appearances these birds wanted their picture taken.

This is Port Huron's waterfront park--Pine Grove Park, more precisely, though several parks run together along the St. Clair and you can easily walk for several miles without getting far from the river. Note the fishermen in the foreground and the waterfront homes--no longer shacks, I notice--in the background. Dobrush is sneaking around the bend, and the Coast Guard's new bouy tender, Hollyhock, seems to be parked on the sidewalk. Neat place.

Just a little primping!

This new bride is no wicked stepmother! Here, she is helping dress and primp the groom's tween (or early teen) daughter. A definite girl bonding moment!
