Today I was playing around with settings on my camera. So, I shot this in black and white, with a high ISO, and then just used the same exact picture as an overlay for the effect!

The J. N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge is part of the United States National Wildlife Refuge System, located in southwestern Florida, on Sanibel Island in the Gulf of Mexico. It is named for the cartoonist Jay Norwood "Ding" Darling.
Jay Norwood Darling (October 21, 1876 – February 12, 1962), better known as Ding Darling, was an American cartoonist who won two Pulitzer Prizes.
Darling was born in Norwood, Michigan, where his parents, Marcellus and Clara, had recently moved so that Marcellus could begin work as a minister. In 1886, the family moved to Sioux City, Iowa. Darling began college in 1894 at Yankton College in South Dakota and moved to Beloit College in Wisconsin the following year. There he became art editor of the yearbook and began signing his work with a contraction of his last name, D'ing, a nickname that stuck.Darling was elected as a member of the Boone and Crockett Club, a wildlife conservation organization, on December 13, 1934.[6]
He was instrumental in founding the National Wildlife Federation in 1936, when President Franklin Roosevelt convened the first North American Wildlife Conference (now the North American Wildlife and Natural Resources Conference), administered by the American Wildlife Institute (now Wildlife Management Institute). i had no idea what do for today's picture, so i went
searching for an idea within my lovely contacts.

I decided to try shooting some derby with my Mamiya 7 on 100 speed slide film. It didn't work out too well but I got a couple interesting ones like this. Here's Primp Daddy getting lead jammer at Western Regionals.

Will be in my house a week or so from now. I had the very nice man from whom I bought it, meet me at an upholstery cleaning place to do the drop off! He gave me a super deal on it, and after it gets primped, cleaned and fluffed, I can't wait to see it in my house. The fabric is a cream micro-suede.
This is one my favorite trees along Bld. East. I liked the way the lighting created an area on the trunk that looks like a woman's face. What came to mind was the image of tree goddess, with an ivy gown, arms outstretched, almost as if putting on gloves and the upper branches her hair....it's a stretch, but I can see it, how about you?
This idea came to me last night and in my mind it looked much better than this but hey I figure i'll put this up anyway.
Obviously this is a before and after series. 2 are within moments of waking up and 2 are the finished product after an hour of showering and primping.
I'm not a morning person and I can certainly tell that on my face. I am excited in the after pics because it's cold enough I can wear a sweater and this is a new one and I think i'm in love with it.
P.S. I never know what to do with my hands....
