The prime meridian, based at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, was established by Sir George Airy in 1851.
My Optimus Prime costume for Halloween. I bought the helmet, made the rest. It's mostly boxes and duct tape, with some parts from Home Depot -- the grate, exhaust, wheels, etc.

This is the Optimus that cames in "The Battle Begins" two pack together with Megatron. These versions are Deluxe class and they have "battle damage" finish. Transformation is very interesting, but my favorite Optimus of this toyline is the Voyager class.
In 1939 the Royal Australian Air Force established a base called RAAF Base Mallala to the north of the Mallala township. The base was originally used for advanced training for RAAF pilots. The base was subsequently closed in May 1960.
During this time there was an artillery range / military training in the Pt Prime area during WWII. (Port Prime).
There seems to be very little public information about Port Prime and it's use. (Other than a listing declaring it safe and free of exposive ordinance).

I recall as a kid, climbing in and out of the bunkers and pill boxes. I was able to find old spent ammunition and bullet holes in cement targets.
Of recent, vandals have levelled the first pillbox at the enterence to the area. This is such a shame. It was a landmark. It always caused wonder seeing it standing there.
Anti-tank Platoon's used 17 pounder guns at the Port Prime Range where they destroyed an old Bren-gun Carrier located on the range for RAAF target practise.
There are still pill boxes and bunkers there. You can find .303 ammunition. Bullets and Shells (corroded)

These are Army / RAAF related.
I recall the cement pillar fences and rusting barbed wire leading down the road to the beach. Now, much of this is off limits as it is now a bird sanctuary.
It is for these reasons, I am documenting the site in photos.
I have found one .51 inch (13mm) anti tank round and many .303 inch (7.7 mm) rounds at the site.
this place is a part of history in the Defense of Australia.
(I have contacted the Port Wakefield proof and experimental establishment, P&EE and Defence Science, JPEU/JLG, Keswick barracks and more and found very little about the site).

PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE: PRIME MINISTER PRESENTS BADGES TO FALKLANDS VETERANS ONBOARD HMS LIVERPOOL
The Royal Navy warship HMS Liverpool today played host to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom as he visited Rosyth Royal Dockyard. The Rt Hon Tony Blair MP was welcomed onboard 25 years to the day since the Argentine invasion of the Falkland Islands.
The purpose of the visit was for the Prime Minister to meet HMS Liverpool’s ship’s company and military personnel who served in the Falkland conflict, whilst also seeing first hand the important part that the local region plays in supporting the Defence effort, the latest product of which is the completion of HMS Liverpool’s 3-month upkeep period and imminent return to active duty within the Fleet.
HMS Liverpool, which is 25 years old this year and herself deployed to the Falkland Islands in 2006 as part of the ongoing mission in the South Atlantic, was the perfect platform to host the veterans, drawn from the Scots Guards and Royal Navy. The nine met the Prime Minister on the bridge of HMS Liverpool and were presented with Veterans’ badges and certificates to recognise their military service 25 years ago. They were then taken on a ship’s tour, which included witnessing a simulated air defence exercise from within the modernised Operations Room. Continuing the theme of technological advances and change over 25 years they also observed a demonstration of current naval fire-fighting and damage control techniques, many of which were adapted and developed from lessons learnt during the Falklands conflict.
Looking to the future, the Prime Minister then went on to learn in more detail of HMS Liverpool’s recent upkeep period, what it means to the local economy and how it contributes to the wider defence interest. You might be tempted to think that Prime numbers are completely random. However, you may recall that Composite and Prime numbers appear to follow a repeat cycle based around the multiple of Primes, or Primorial. If we put all the numbers into a Primorial grid a pattern will emerge. I have used a Primorial grid of 2x3x5x7=210 as this is large enough to show the pattern without being so large that the grid would be difficult to view. Using this size grid, multiples of Prime numbers up to 7 will have their own distinct rows, while multiples of Prime numbers above 7 will be mixed together with Prime numbers. The Prime numbers will only appear in certain rows and this is consistent with all Primes ending with 1, 3, 7 or 9.
This is where Composite numbers, Prime numbers and possible Primes start to take on properties of Fractals and blend in a strange world of certainty and probability, Order and Chaos. Prime numbers are attracted to certain rows and repelled from others. For the rows where the Primes have been repelled, we can be certain there are no Primes, but for the rows where they have been attracted we still can’t be certain where they are – we know where they are not but not where they are. There is a random element which is difficult to define, as Primes and possible Primes are mixed together. We have replaced the linear randomness with a complex grid which is random at many levels.
We have to be careful and remember that this is a pattern of Composite numbers in which the Prime numbers are unwittingly embedded. However, it does help to clarify the pattern of Composite numbers and inadvertently help predict when and where Prime numbers will emerge.

Scenes from the old Army bombing range at Pt Prime. The seashells, the mud, the car wrecks.
We saw a weird building and also what seemed to be a kite surfers lost kite.
We were not going to investigate these things.
I had learnt my leason.
We saw a wreck, way out in the seaweed. Walking to it was easy. It took us about 30 minutes to walk there. After we had looked it over, we descided instead of walking back at an angle to the beach (Which is how we got there) we walked straight in.
After 5 minutes, I started sinking in smelly grey mud up to my knees. It took all my strength to pull out one leg, only to get my other one stuck. All this whilst the tide was coming in. I was balancing my shoes in one hand, my expensive Canon 5D and 70-200 L Lens in the other. I did not want to drop anything.
The distance was about 1/5 the distance we had walked to get out to the wreck but it took over 2 hours to get back to the shore line.
I was very tired. The walk back, sinking (in the end I sank up to my Hips) was exhausting so we left the object that looked like a kite and I descided I was never coming back here again.
Anyway, I had photos so if I wanted to come back, I just needed to look at the photos.
The wreck, I think it is a Holden VB Commodore and a second car (Isuzu) that came out to rescue it. Both have very much been claimed by the sea.
