Full-blown movie Transformers repaint... protoform verion of Optimus Prime. Several layers of metallics here - first a metallic black base, then layered drybrushes of Oily Steel, Silver, and a custom mixed metallic light blue. Then accent colors were added in. All screw holes were filled in and sculpted to keep the figure one solid piece with no distractions.
Look at all that glass! A large aperture wide prime is a wonderful tool for low-light work - lots of light, but still a reasonable depth of field.
There are newer different versions of Prime with shortened exhaust pipes. They made this change so stupid kids won’t poke their eyes out. The result is a much crappier looking Prime both as a robot and semi-trailer. Give me an eye patch and one good eye to play with mine thank you very much.

04-02-10 I was going to settle for an iphone pic or something else really quick today. As it it had gone dark before I left work I strapped on my 50mm f1.4 lens and tried to find something I couldn't capture with my f2.8. I spotted these uplit trees in the park near my flat ans the branches were a vivid red. I think this shot captures that quite well. There was minimal post processing on this. Just a little exposure boost.

JASPER COUNTY, S.C.—Work continues at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah Harbor dredge disposal area "12A" shown here Aug. 29, 2013. Col. Thomas Tickner, commander for the Corps' Savannah District, and his staff visit the work site and meet with David Snodgrass, a quality control manager from Edgefield Construction, the prime contractor for the 12A improvement project. The project includes the placement of 1.2 million cubic yards of dredge material to raise the dike, and the placement of 158,000 cubic yards of dredge material to place on inshore bird island, according to William Lane, Corps quality control inspector. The bird island will be topped with an additional 30,000 cubic yards of coarse sand, relocated from dredge disposal area "14B." The sand will form a two-foot layer to provide adequate nesting habitat for birds. The project also includes repairing five weirs—structures that control the flow of water to the disposal area—and expanding walkways on the weirs. When complete, the 12A project will increase the Corps' capacity to hold more dredged material from the Savannah Harbor. Construction began Sept. 2012 and is slated for completion in October 2013. The whole 12A interior spans 1,100 acres and is the Corps' largest disposal area for the Savannah Harbor. The Corps' Savannah District is responsible for operating and maintaining the Savannah shipping channel (and its associated dredge disposal areas) to ensure commerce has safe and adequate access to and from the Garden City Ocean Terminal. Scenes from the old Army bombing range at Pt Prime. The seashells, the mud, the car wrecks.
We saw a weird building and also what seemed to be a kite surfers lost kite.
We were not going to investigate these things.
I had learnt my leason.
We saw a wreck, way out in the seaweed. Walking to it was easy. It took us about 30 minutes to walk there. After we had looked it over, we descided instead of walking back at an angle to the beach (Which is how we got there) we walked straight in.
After 5 minutes, I started sinking in smelly grey mud up to my knees. It took all my strength to pull out one leg, only to get my other one stuck. All this whilst the tide was coming in. I was balancing my shoes in one hand, my expensive Canon 5D and 70-200 L Lens in the other. I did not want to drop anything.
The distance was about 1/5 the distance we had walked to get out to the wreck but it took over 2 hours to get back to the shore line.
I was very tired. The walk back, sinking (in the end I sank up to my Hips) was exhausting so we left the object that looked like a kite and I descided I was never coming back here again.
Anyway, I had photos so if I wanted to come back, I just needed to look at the photos.
The wreck, I think it is a Holden VB Commodore and a second car (Isuzu) that came out to rescue it. Both have very much been claimed by the sea.
