Looks like some kids had a nice wading pool along the the W shore of Idaho's Priest Lake. I suspect their parents had to help with some of those larger boulders. Ahhh, sweet summer memories.

Tenryū-ji (天龍寺)—more formally known as Tenryū Shiseizen-ji (天龍資聖禅寺)—is the head temple of the Tenryū branch of Rinzai Zen Buddhism, located in Arashiyama, Susukinobaba-chō, Ukyō Ward, Kyoto, Japan. The temple was founded by Ashikaga Takauji in 1339, primarily to venerate Gautama Buddha, and its first chief priest was Musō Soseki. Construction was completed in 1345. As a temple related to both the Ashikaga family and Emperor Go-Daigo, the temple is held in high esteem, and is ranked number one among Kyoto's so-called Five Mountains. In 1994, it was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as part of the "Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto".
Holy moly! A great pic of a classic dealership scene. All these cars in front were bought by a driving school. As Keicar says this photo was probably taken in May 1982, judging by the Metro registrations.
Priest at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. He is Russian Orthodox, as these are the ones in charge of the upstairs part of the church.

Who else remembers that very short-lived series (perhaps NBC?) from the early 70's; Priest?
It followed the wild adventures of maverick clergyman Julius Priest as he brought holy justice to Harlem.

Every week he'd get a new mission from his talking Bible (voiced by Casey Kasem). The best episodes had him up against a Satanist biker gang. And a few episodes in he got a kung-fu kicking oriental nun as his sidekick. Then it all went weirdly metaphysical which did for the already lousy ratings and the show was pulled from the ratings.
It's never even shown up on video or DVD which fuels the rumours that pressure groups had the original tapes destroyed...

This photograph was taken during our stay on the Caribbean island of Aruba in 2009. This is the Lourdes Grotto. From a website: The Lourdes Grotto, named in commemoration of the famous French religious landmark, was created under the guidance of a priest named "Erkamp" and parishioners in the year 1958. The grotto, a shrine built into the rocks is located in Seroe Preto, just off the main road to San Nicolas.
A priest inside the Pura Mahadev temple, Baghpat, Uttarpradesh.
Pura Mahadev is located on the main Baghpat – Meerut Highway. It is 30 KM from Baghpat and around 36 KM from Meerut. The sprawling temple compound is situated on the bank of river Hindan, 4.5 KM north of town Baloni in Baghpat District. According to a local myth, a shiv temple was established here by Rishi Parshuram and hence this place was called Shiv Puri. Later however the name of the place changed to Shiv Pura and the place gradually began to be known as Pura Mahadev. Mahadev being another name of lord Shiva.
Every Year, During the months of sharavan and falgun, a fourteen days festival is organised here. Millions of people from all around gather here and “Kanwariyas” pay their tribute to lord shiva by pouring holy water of The Ganges on the shivling inside the temple.

During the name revision in 1885, the name of this street was determined to be Prästgatan, but as early as 1586 the street was referred to as Prästegathen after the residences that were there for the city's chaplains. The four small houses in which the chaplains lived were demolished in 1708. Then the still remaining priest's residence was built. In the 1730s, the southern part of the street was called Stenbergs gränd after the German nobleman and court stable master Antonius von Steinberg (died 1675). He owned the entire block of Venus adjacent to the south end of the alley. From the middle of the 18th century to the middle of the 19th century, the same section is called Tyska Prästgatan, after the priests of the German Church, and during the same time the northern part was called Svenska Prästgatan, after the priests of the Great Church. The short part north of Storkyrkobrinken was originally called Helvetiegränden and that name came from an area called Helvetet. In 1451, an empty belæghin is mentioned in Helvite. There are different opinions about why the area was called that, possibly because the executioner lived there.
