Collective 52 Photo Project. Week 44/52 ''Shoot From The Hip''.
This prompt was difficult for me as I chose to take an image of people on the street, which I don't usually do as I have personal feelings and issues about privacy. Well out of my comfort zone and shooting from the hip, I came upon this scene which I knew would work as soon as I saw it. I feel there is enough character in the gentleman's back (privacy protected) to make an image. Colour was chosen because, in my view, it looked better than b&w giving a better emphasis on the priest.

The Bergkirche Beucha is an originally Romanesque sacred building of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Saxony on the church hill of Beucha, a district of the municipality of Brandis in the Saxon district of Leipzig, which was built in the 13th century and extended in 1848.
The church stands on the 147-metre-high Beuchaer Kirchberg, which towers more than 20 metres above the surrounding area, so that it can be seen from far away. Because of its elevation, it is commonly referred to as one of the "Three High Priests" in the Leipzig region, as are the Panitzsch church and the Hohen Thekla church.

After waiting for what has felt like weeks, we finally had a clear night last night and I hurried over to Cape Cornwall to photograph the Milky Way as it was rising. The bright light on the left is Sennen and Land's End and the lght below the Milky Way on the horizon is Longships Lighthouse. It was great to be out at night again under the stars even though it was a little too windy.

A priest entering the Oratorio in Monterosso, to officiate at a funeral. Inside, this church is decorated with skulls and skeletons (you can just about make out one on the upper right)- it was the church of a religious fraternity, the Brotherhood of Death and Prayer, who were responsible for the burial of the dead, particularly of the poor.
For a photo story of my visit to the Cinque Terre:
From a million drying lakes
I have cried the tears of none
Empty shivers calling
For my time far undone
I assume that there is no one
That can find my peace of mind
They assume that I am guilty
But guilt, I see none
Priest, Priest
I was born to be a traitor
Invidious to the core
I betray to be the saviour
In times to come and times of yore
The fallen traitor hiding
When all is said and done
A crown deserves its right king
In the shadow of the son
Hold on, hold on my love
We're all at, we're all at, we're all at fault
No one owns your heart
We're all at, we're all at, we're all at fault
Don't fall, don't follow blind
We're all at, we're all at, we're all at fault
No one turns your mind

The Greek priest
You can in Greece, the Greek priest - or Pappas, as they are called - encounter everywhere. They are recognizable by their long, black or blue clothes and their hats. They are not required to always wear their priest clothes, but they do usually, for practical reasons and because they are easier to identify in that way. The Greek priests can marry and have children.
