Youngsters modelling their own creations @ Liverpool's world record breaking "Very Big Catwalk" fashion event
At the end of the Rocks Photo Walk I came across a young model posing for photos. One side of the alley was old and rustic (as you'd expect to see in The Rocks). The other side was modern with clean sharp lines. Quite a contrast.
Made with:
25 diapers (size 1)
2 onesies
2 burpcloths
1 butterfly links toy (links around wreath)
1 receiving blanket
1 pair socks
2 barrettes
1 teething ring
These women are amazing! 8 women, 24 loops and 120 miles total! goodncrazy.com/time-ragnar-trail-relay-smackdown/
one of the events I attended this weekend.... a luncheon to raise money to fight breast cancer..a sold-out event...which will likely earn more than $ 10,000 in our small towns...you can read more about it in our local online newspaper :
People attending were urged to wear something pink...and when you add the great decorations the committee provided, ribBons, flowers, lights...the effect was very colourful.... and the atmosphere was a a lot of fun.
A few photos here...so that you can get the idea...but I urge you to look at the link for the whole story .
I may have lost some comments as I was trying to arrange these photos. If I deleted you, I do apologize!
I always get confused when uploading photos here because when I upload to a pool it seems to auto-arrange the photos no matter how I select them, and then I can't remember if the ones I upload first on my photostream show up first or last in the series!
(Bought the whole box for 10 bucks at another one of my favorite private thrift shops in South Florida. It's a place you don't go into if you're the least faint of heart. Some of the most down-on-their-luck men come in. They might be buying more than junk, I dunno, but it's made me wonder. The owner is an alcoholic with a heart of gold and a high intellect. I never miss the chance to visit when I'm down there.)
The box is FULL! Besides what you can see on top, there's a set or range S&P shakers, a grease can, a cake cover, and several miscellaneous molds.
I used to hate this stuff, but I've been picking it up a lot lately and it really grows on you. Or should I say, it has really grown on ME!
Is it tacky or terrific?
Looking through the window of a closed thrift shop on Pensacola's west side, near the corner of Navy Blvd. and Barrancas Ave. / Gulf Beach Highway. One of the little alternative shops on the curve, next door to Years AGo-Go. Looks like raw material for the main female character in the 80s movie "Pretty In Pink" to refashion a prom dress out of. Or a hallowe'en costume for a fairy godmother. Just look at those hot pink spaghetti straps. I swear I think I saw a guy in this, carrying a beer and walking down the middle of the street with his buddies one night in Copenhagen. Or was it New Orleans? At any rate, that would explain the wrinkles.

These little girls slipped away from their mothers and headed off after Heidi. Normally this beach is very quiet and ideal for dogs and horses. The good weather has brought the crowds so I had to head for a quiet part as fast as I could. The dogs are good with people but some people are terrified of dogs!
cilvee sent us lovely modern meadow in the pink shades to create the stars of our choice. I wanted to make a special star for her because she's so sweet. ;) So a spinning star was made! Plus a little wonky star block for the quilt.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, my dear Flickr friends! I would be very happy If somebody can ID this lovely pink bloom. Thank you. :0
I had to move the orchid so she could smell it. Then she wanted to sit where the orchid had been sitting :)
"I probably don't even need to tell you that my daughter was given the award for "Best Dress" at her Senior Prom. Her great taste and Rissy Roo's amazing selection made this possible. It was surreal to see her walking towards the crowd during Grand March and hear nearly every single attendee gasp in amazement of this beautiful dress. This is the second absolutely breathtaking dress we've ordered from Rissy Roo's and we'll be back!
♥
Thanks a million!

gyp wears pink anyways, so this collar was a natural choice, even though you can't see it very well under her hair-collar!
i love her pointy little gyppie-nose.
You knew it had to be one of June, didn't you? ;-)
We went out to eat tonight with Junebug and her Mom and Dad. We went to a Chinese restaurant and while waiting for the guys to pay the bill, we girls drifted out to the lobby.
June spied these chairs and made a beeline for them. She climbed up all by herself and just sat quietly. One of the rare times I've seen her still. I love her look - she looks lost in thought. ;-)
This little girl was so amazing! Usually, I don't post two photos on the same subject... In the first photo, she seemed so grown-up, here, she is the total child, immersed in fantasy and play, totally unself-conscious. In the middle of the guessing game she was playing with me, she stopped to "feel" and/or "interpret" the breeze, or some other flight of fancy, by making a sudden, twisting, dance-like movement!
