Mohnöl zeichnet sich durch sein zart-liebliches Aroma aus und ist ein Speiseöl für die kalte Küche. Das hellgelbe, charaktervolle Öl macht sich bestens in Dressings, Obstsalaten, Müsli oder Süßspeisen. Es unterstreicht den Geschmack der Zutaten und gibt ihnen zusätzlich eine besondere Note. Zudem sorgt Mohnöl dafür, dass die fettlöslichen Vitamine aus den verwendeten Nahrungsmitteln vom Körper aufgenommen und verwertet werden können. Allerdings sollte es nicht stark erhitzt werden, da sich dann sein Geschmack verändert. Besonders gut harmoniert Mohnöl mit Tomaten, Wassermelone, Kartoffeln, aber auch Nudelgerichte lassen sich mit ihm verfeinern – einfach etwas Mohnöl nach dem Kochen unter die Nudeln mengen. Desserts – zum Beispiel Eis, Germknödel oder Panna Cotta – gewinnen geschmacklich durch ein paar Tropfen Mohnöl hinzu. Aufgrund seines intensiven Geschmacks ist es sehr ergiebig – Sie brauchen immer nur eine geringe Menge Öl.

The rose garden at the farm has ugly fencing, to protect it from rabbits and goats. Peppers is a tall goat, and he can reach over it, though. I hope the bushes grow taller, so the fencing isn't in the background of my photos. That's why I like the tall Gold Medal plant, in the previous photo.
