So I made a return trip for one day in hopes of getting shots of a Rough Legged with prey. I waited ALL DAY and just about gave up hope. As the sun had set this fella became aggressively active and began hunting. The sky created a nice pink cast on the mountains from the golden light. I couldn't have asked for a better backdrop. I will post prior shots, but wanted to jump ahead. He devoured two voles within 15 a minute span. I'll save those for later :) These were dreams shots for me and felt so elated after waiting all day for something to happen because most of the hawks stayed out too far. My first encounter two weeks ago yielded nice Ferruginous Hawks as well. More to come! Click for large version.

Week 18 - Springtime
Japanese cherry blossoms ...
After watching a YouTube video on some of the animals at Point Reyes National Seashore we took a trip for the purpose of finding and photographing Bobcats. The first day no Bobcats but in early evening we were able to photograph nearby Coyotes demonstrating their howling skills. Early the next day after some sunrise photos we headed out in search of Bobcats again. We saw a coyote walking about in the area where we had seen the two the previous night. There was another one nearby in the grass. However, upon closer examination through the camera, the coyote in the grass was in fact a Bobcat. He laid there for a couple of minutes but decided it was time to saunder across the road and check out the other side, looking back occasionally to give us a couple more good shots. Wow, so close and with super early morning light! Yeah! However, later that day, late afternoon, we got shots of another Bobcat. Not as close but he hung around for lots of shots. What a day!!!

she enjoyed the beach, my wife's fish fry food, the dinner we had , the visits in ECR... sunrise, sunsets, travelling and yes "my thunder bird bike" , my daughter...
we disscussed everything about to photography to personals...!! craking jokes all the time...

both of us having a beautiful family background...!!! its a strange experiece to me...
yes really i was very sad when she came to my office for the final good bye..a little bit emotional... !!
but we know that we have to go our real world.. the responsibilites of our regular real life just in front of us!!!!

Salt water lake high in the Bolivian Andes. This lake was above 4,400 M and the next morning was snowed and iced over. The weather changes quickly in this part of the world!
Depending on the weather and time of day these lakes can look quite red to a more bluish color - with the low clouds and evening sunset, the lake was a perfect hue of pink on this day

Something that most people don't know about me (though some of you may have guessed)... is that I suffer from a mild form of OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder).
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder in which people have recurring, unwanted thoughts, ideas or sensations (obsessions)... that make them feel driven to do something repetitively (compulsions).
Over time I have learned to control most of the negative aspects of this disorder... while at the same time embracing all the positive aspects! And what might those be I hear you asking?
For instance... there was once a time when I was completely obsessed with the idea of capturing the most amazing photo of Table Mountain that has ever been captured by anyone!
I don't think I ever managed to achieve that goal... but I did have a lot of fun trying. :)
Now I'm obsessed about taking the best Knysna Forest photo that has ever been taken.
Hah hah... being stuck here at home isn't helping me deal with this obsession at all. ;)
Ninebark in someone's yard, leaves coming out before the chlorophyll enters the chloroplasts (this usually takes just a few days). The leaves will turn lovely colors again when the chlorophyll breaks down in fall.
This might even be one of the purple leaf cultivars
Fake plastic greenery, fake flower, fake (post processed) texture overlay, vignette and border. I think the usual MM idea is not to post process too much, but it seems more acceptable when the theme is "Fake" (I hope).
But see the patches of light in the background? That's not fake light, it's real, and it's coming in through the real glass doors that lead out into the real world, and the darker patch in the top left hand corner is caused by the very real tree in the real garden beyond :)

I think it is interesting how power gets put together on a big old railroad. Somehow, a pair of leasor units have been paired together for the Cedar River Local for the past 2 weeks out of Waterloo. It's pretty neat to see a couple of old ex-Soo Line SD60's paired back together again. Here, the girls sit at the roundhouse at Waterloo over the weekend. The Cedar River doesn't work over the weekend much, so the power will sit for a day or so unless needed on M338 for a kicker unit.
These Soo SD60's were in the 1st 21 units order (6000-6020), which were delivered between between August and October 1987. This bunch was returned leased, and some spent time on the INRD. Now, power short CN has them.
The Boston Terrier is gentle, alert, very intelligent, well-mannered and enthusiastic.. Today i found this sweet dog walking with his human in Menominee Michigan.... . 4/21/2011
Someday Doug and I are going to get one for Ms Cappuccino ( our cat) to have a playmate... :)
