Mallards by the stream. Wild ducks that look like they were painted, they always amaze me even though they are frequent visitors to our stream.
I would have liked this photo to be lighter.

Although the water continues to be exceeding hight at Rob't Lk, there are still opps for shots. The WIPHs are back in good numbers. While a small flock foraged on one side of the road, a smaller group were more subdued just beyond the private gate, and virtually at my feet.
The females of this species are the stars of the colony — for looks at least; the males do much of the chick-rearing....
Walking along the lake I spotted a tree full of Robins gorging themselves on the fruit. They pretty much ignored me which allowed me to get close..

A Fuchsia flower from the garden. So delicate and pretty and in one of my favourite colour-combinations!
Fuchsia is a genus of flowering plants that consists mostly of shrubs or small trees.
The first, Fuchsia triphylla, was discovered on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola (present day Dominican Republic and Haiti) in 1703 by the French Minim monk and botanist, Charles Plumier.
He named the new genus after the renowned German botanist Leonhart Fuchs
The vast majority of garden hybrids have descended from a few parent species.

Both the 'pretty entrance' and the pidgeon pics were taken within the space of less than 1 minute. They're SOOC JPEGs, shot with the Lumix TZ70, which I've edited in Fastone (an excellent image viewer + editor) and Gimp.
