One of the pretty houses in Flamstead, Hertfordshire. This is Verulam House (both words, 'flam' and 'Verulam', derive from Latin Verulamium, the name the Romans gave to the city which is now St Albans). Flamstead, at least its old centre, is a prosperous village.
equipped with a cross, and perhaps those are dual exhaust pipes? Go figure...coal rollers for Christ?
Well depending on the light, pinkish red.
Male Eurasian Bullfinch.
One of my favourite UK birds and always special to see, especially close up. Remember Chris Packham once giving a sliding scale of finch 'value' to the bird watcher. One Hawfinch being worth 10 Bullfinches - and a male Bullfinch being worth 100 Chaffinches (or something like that). I would say Bullfinches are worth more than that!
Taken in Norfolk.
“So dull and dark are the November days. The lazy mist high up the evening curled, and now the morn quite hides in the smoke and haze; the place we occupy seems all the world.”

Thanks for watching, much appreciated!
Aqui em BH já começaram as comemorações pro St Patrick's Day (que é dia 17 de março) e resolvi já entrar no clima. E dentre os verdes que eu tenho, acho esse o mais lindo!
Foram 3 camadas + 1 de extra-brilho. A aplicação é super fácil.
Acho que as fotos estão fieis.
Bean had a fun visit to the farm today, with Luna offering her usual greeting. She likes to check out the dogs, and vice versa. Bean is very good, and sat nicely for some photos.
This little lady allowed me to get quite close while she posed for me. There was also a male in the area so I think she was a little of a flirt! Lifer for me taken in Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary, Belize. Another photo of this Vermilion Flycatcher is in the comment box.
Thank you for your visit and comments. They are very much appreciated.
A nice morning to be along the river looking out over Sparrows Point and the Chesapeake Bay on the outskirts of the Baltimore Harbor.
Hard to believe but this was my first blue BCOL C44-9W leading on a train. In all of my years of photographing trains, this was one of the most elusive units for me to capture leading.
Today was a pretty crummy day for myself and some time trackside was needed to clear the mind and BCOL 4645 did a pretty decent job at helping with that.

Another one of the feral cats that live over at Newbridge. Isn't she gorgeous?
Happy Furry Friday everyone!
Wishing you a healthy and safe weekend

Little squirrel posed so sweetly sitting upright with hands together doing its best to get our attention in hopes for a little nibble
Happy Sunday!
Happy Holidays stay safe be blessed!
Pretty pink flower petals about to unfold on this bush in Greensboro, North Carolina, on April Fool's Day in 2020.
I found this male hummingbird coming down from a tree to feast on some pink clover growing in a patch of grass & weeds by the train track. Some stalks were in the way; this was the best of several shots that I was able to get, as it shows off that bright pink colour! You can just discern his wings fluttering as he feeds.
When I checked the photo on the computer, I saw to my great surprise and joy that is was an Anna's Hummingbird. I had not seen these here before in the Vancouver areas of BC, but apparently they do have habitats here.
Note: The Anna's Hummingbird was voted as the official bird of BC.These and the Rufous Hummingbirds do not migrate south in winter; they stay all year long.
So the rain goes on and I'm seeing a bit of a pattern. We had a really extreme summer with day after day of heat with no end in sight. Now it's the other extreme. This doesn't bode well for photography or for my poor bunnies trying to graze on either barren or swamp land!! Given that they are white they are safely indoors today.
There are still some shots to share - from my Stourhead visit last autumn, a couple of local sunrises and this one taken early January the night of the wolf moon. Before the moon showed up the sunset behind generated some gorgeous pinks that made it worth going out even without the moon.
The worm moon is due the week I'm in Wales. But looking at the long range forecast I doubt I'll see it
