Surbiton, Cobham Bus Museum route 65 running day. Apr 2021

It was a treat to have a ride out on Borderbus' preserved Volvo B58-56 Duple Dominant yesterday, 18th December 2020. FTV10L was one of a matching pair new to Skills Scenicruisers of Nottingham and was one of the earliest Volvo coaches in the country,

The side views of the third generation ('68-'72) El Caminos look mostly the same, it's the details that make each model year unique. This well maintained '70 parked in its shady spot was a delight to see. Heavy Chevys came the next year for Chevelles, but I don't think there was an El Camino version. Anyway, it caught my attention...

This Abandoned Heap of Brass Preserving Pans is one of my favourite areas of the yard; it hardly ever changes - perhaps nobody buys any ‽

On my last day at Mojave National Preserve, I drove out to a place with lots of rock formations to spend the night. I hoped that the rain and clouds would abate before sunrise. The rain did end just before sunset and a bit of blue sky appeared in the west. I ran around looking for a good photo spot as the eastern clouds were turning pink. With just a few minutes left, I found this spot with a pair of rocks that at the time reminded me of hands rising up (not so much, anymore!) and set up for this photo. After dark it started raining again, and eventually it began to snow. But I've already told that story.

I wonder how these rocks looked in the snow.

(BTW, Pres. Obama yesterday set aside a huge amount of acreage in SoCal, some of it bordering this, as new national monuments/preserves.)

Crystal Springs Preserve is in Zephyrhills, FL. It was once open to the public to visit but has had entry restricted to groups and booked events for some time in order to preserve the spring and grounds. In addition to the namesake springs group, the preserve features an enjoyable boardwalk and views of the Hillsborough River.

Sheer Edwardian elegance. Model locomotive.

Preserved former Eastern National 1985 Leyland Olympian/ECW B693 BPU, which wears the livery of Northumbria Motor Services, is pictured here at South Burns, Chester-le-Street, during transfer to the North East from East Yorkshire's depot in Hull. 17/04/21

Originally new to Eastern National as its fleet number 4505 for 'City Commuter' coach services between Essex and London, the vehicle then passed to Liverbus as part of its 'Coach 2000' service fleet in Liverpool.

Today the vehicle has been preserved and painted in the livery of Northumbria Motor Services as a 'creation' of what she would have looked like if she had joined her sister, B697 BPU, in the North East. She also sports the next numerically available Northumbria fleet number '369' (the real Northumbria 'BPU' was 368 - so neither bear any relation to their registration plate numbers!). Very few of this type exist now, being some 35 years old, so to create a fully working Northumbria example requires a degree of artistic licence!

Owned by Go North East's Managing Director, Martijn Gilbert, the vehicle is now in storage at the company's Hexham Depot.

This wetland was permanently protected by the Ellerbee Creek Watershed association. It is in the middle of surburbia, bordered by an old shopping center, a working class residential neighborhood and I85. It is a beautiful, hidden gem in the summer full of lily pads, frogs, turtles and beavers. At this time of year...it's pretty, but kinda blah for photos. It needed my lovely photo partner in the shot.
