1953- A recent online discovery of a radio show script/transcription: a popular weekly radio show made a stop at Seton Hall in April for a national broadcast of the Camel Caravan, starring bandleader, trumpeter, singer and actor Vaughn Monroe. The event filled Walsh Gym jammed to the rafters with Seton Hall fans, as Monroe, his band and recording star Eydie Gorme presented “songs America’s asking for.” In addition the crowd heard incessant pitches for the throat-soothing and taste pleasing benefits of Camel cigarettes. Following a shout-out to Seton Hall President Msgr. John McNulty and the college’s faculty and students, the event closed with a rousing version of March Setonia. In 1954 Eydie Gorme teamed with (and later married) Steve Lawrence, becoming known simply as the pop singing duo Steve and Eydie— a 50s version of Sonny and Cher.
This is Velo Orange's Grand Cru threadless bottom bracket, fresh out of the box. Notice that rather than threaded cups that slide together, this has threadless cups that thread together. As you thread the two pieces tighter together, the aluminum expansion sleeves slide up the slightly tapered cups, locking the bracket into place. Most people recommend greasing the threads, the cups underneath the expansion sleeves and the expansion sleeves, so we'll do all that before insertion.
