The wings of two moths seen on the ground at Botany Bay nature reserve near Chiddingfold in Surrey, July 2016.
The green one belonged to an Emerald moth, though I'm not sure about the other (which was darkish grey on the other side).
It appears both insects were caught by flying predators during the night: it could possibly have been nightjars but the more obvious guess would be bats.
Although these images are sad in a way, and I would rather have been photographing these moths alive, they do count as a reminder that insects are fairly low on the food pyramid.

I love the contrast of attitudes on this moment, how cute the tiger look licking his paws
but in same time that focused look, so straight eyes make me remember how dangerous n powerfull this animal is.
I want to hug but then i want run from predator...
Snowfall has been a little more than usual for this area, at this time of the year. Mornings are spent with a good cup of coffee, warm fire, and the occasional glance outside to see what the weather is doing. This morning, I noticed a large object in the middle of fresh snow. Using binoculars, I saw this beautiful Red Tail Hawk feeding. I wanted a close shot, but as I moved in closer, it took off in to a nearby tree. After a few minutes, it took to flight with prey in talons and I was able to snap this image as it flew away.
Australian Saltwater Crocodiles are Primary Predators - The saltwater crocodile, also known as the estuarine or Indo-Pacific crocodile, is the largest of all living reptiles. This apex predator is formidable, opportunistic and adaptable, with a considerable range it is found in suitable habitats from northern Australia through Southeast Asia to the eastern coast of India.
The Saltwater Crocodile is usually found in deep, dark murky water. It may inhabit fresh or saltwater but is most commonly found in the brackish estuary areas of Northern Australia.
Saltwater Crocodiles take a wide variety of prey, although juveniles are restricted to smaller items such as insects, amphibians, crustaceans, small reptiles and fish. The larger the animal becomes, the larger its prey items are. Although a large male crocodile could take on a food item as large as a 1 tonne Water Buffalo, the majority of their diet consists of relatively small prey items such as crustaceans, fish, turtles, small mammals and birds.
Around breeding season, which usually takes place during the wet season, large male crocodiles will patrol their stretches of water protecting their territory from intruding males. When Saltwater Crocodiles are courting one another, they will rub their heads and bodies together. Mating takes place in the water. Between 4-6 weeks after mating, the female will lay 40-60 eggs in her nest. The nest may be up to 80cm high and is made of vegetation broken off by the female's teeth and scraped together with her hind legs.

Tigers are apex predators and are known to hunt leopards, pythons, and even crocodiles. Luckily we were not being hunted when we took this shot at the Out of Africa Wildlife Park in Camp Verde.
Am putting up two photos this evening, but one photo is simply to illustrate a point. This little guy is roughly 2 feet long and his chances of living to adulthood are slim to none. If he makes it to 4 or 5 feet long, he may have a fighting chance, but I’ve seen only one 4-foot alligator as of late. We can only wish him good luck and hope that he avoids the predators and grows into one himself.

This is the first part of a piece in which I will be
upholstering a the stoop which sits adjacent to a bus stop, in an
attempt to draw people into the piece as inadvertent/indirect
participants while also providing a small space of comfort while
waiting. This is an attempt to further articulate the role that I feel
a lot of image based street art interventions simply recede into the
environment and go relatively unnoticed. The powerful and potentially
inflammatory gesture of the artist imposing themselves illegally is
seen almost as a parody, for most people hardly recognize the
existence of the poster. Yet the poster is setting a trap, luring
viewers in, beckoning them to sit and notice. It is an empty hunt.

A wild imagination on how will the photo look like, if Predator becomes a photographer :)

Another in a series of photos of large wood sculptures in Joseph Wheelwright's exhibit, "Tree Figures," currently showing at the Fruitlands Museum in Harvard, Massachusetts.
I think you can all see why this one is called "Predator Tree."

A Cooper's Hawk captures a bird with its feet and kills it by repeated squeezing. Falcons tend to kill their prey by biting it, but Cooper’s Hawks hold their catch away from the body until it dies. They’ve even been known to drown their prey, holding a bird underwater until it stopped moving.
While kayak fishing recently I came across this fisherman ..A few moments later he was truly connected with this magnificent 24 lb ,12 kg lady pike.Pike grow this big before spawning ,This fish was quickly return after good care and a little photo.Pike in Scotland are awesome..We protect them and all those fish are released free..Although they are no laws people can fish and kill them as they go ..The opening of Europe did not help ,new comers to Scotland thinks is it fun to empty ponds ,rivers and lochs for the table, but we fishermen and nature lovers think different. All wild fish must be returned unharmed ....Always practice catch and release ...and use very strong tackle ,, over wise stay clear from my fishing spot..
