and then this

and i foresee that more will come in the future.

I plan to make it part of a display, wich i am working on and hopefully will bring to our annual RLUG Convention at the end of April.

I still need to do a few small finishing touches here and there, but was overall quite satisfied, so had to post.

The Predator Elite is a medium to heavy warfighter, which will engage any enemy, be it in the air, sea or at the ground, dosn't matter. They are known to be ferocious and know no fear and will engage at any oportunity..........

Please enjoy, and feel free to comment.

i thought it would be a perfect build session to get a few things off my

"have to build" list.

1. A mackerel (white/mako) shark in sand blue that looks better than this:

www.1000steine.com/brickset/images/4506-1.jpg

2.A friend who is diving in Thailand wanted me to build a mantaray

the last time he was visiting.

We were lazy that evening i guess...

3.A good mix of organic madness and the studs vs. tiled surface

pretty good presented in the past by "them":

www.flickr.com/photos/40543176@N03/

4.A good presentation for the Predator and Prey topic

Do not focus to much on the builds around the two guys.

The focus lies on the fish ;)

Especially the colorcombo of sand and dark blue

is very eyecatching to me since they are both still rare.

5.The shark has some asynchronous

because of the way the body bends.

For me one of the hardest things to build was always

a good shaped organic lifeform, like an oceanic animal.

Well i´m done with that for now i guess.

This is a toy that I bought about 8 years ago. I was digging through boxes and found it. I thought it would make an interesting subject. I also found the other in the set.

The model is 20 cm high (22 cm with the alien) and some elements like the pose and the weapon over the shoulder are inspired by the Predator character of the homonymous saga.

I suppose I could have build a truly classic Gatling Gun mixing Gunmetal and Bronze Minigun components, but where's the fun in that? ;)

"My Dearest Sally, long and tall:

The war against the rebels drags on, and the battles we continue to face make Richmond look like Bloody Kansas. Thankful, my regiment recently received a new piece of armament courtesy of Dr. Richard Gatling, and I have adapted it to suit my own needs. Although the Confederate forces have embedded themselves in around Vicksburg to the degree to a tick from Alabama, it is my firm belief that when this weapon when removed from its bag, it will be more enough to give them pause.

More terrifying than the thought of facing Gen. Lee's men in the field is the recent discovery of the dismembered bodies of several men previously thought to be deserters.

I regret I lack the time to write no more than I have time to contemplate my wounds which continue to issue blood.

Your amorous terrible lizard,

Col. Blaine"

Looking back through my files at photos taken over the last few years, I came upon a series of shots of a sparrowhawk, taken at Potteric Carr nature reserve. I remember scrambling for my camera as the bird landed under a tree, searching for prey which had vanished into the bushes. The sun was setting on a February day, backlighting the bird and creating lovely lights among the shadows

The Rules of the Game:

Posting of a detail fragment of a work of art will take place sometime after 8:00 PM EST, five days a week (Sunday; Monday; Tuesday; Wednesday; Thursday. There are no IDs on Friday or Saturday)

Correct answers are allotted points in the following manner:

First correct respondent receives 6 points

Second: 5 points

third: 4 points

fourth: 3 points

fifth: 2 points

Each respondent after that receives 1 point, whether the artist named is correct or not.. 2 points will be awarded if there were not 5 awards.

Incorrect responses will be awarded at least one point (there is no penalty for guessing...actually encouraged).

The opportunity to accrue points can only happen within a maximum of 24 hours. Once the full photograph of the work of Art is elevated and the artist identified, no additional scoring (for that work can occur). (In other words, regardless of pleas, points will not be awarded for a comment/ID made days after the posting) ( Also, 15 guesses does not generate 15 points...only 1 point )

A favorite of the photograph will also garnish 1 point ( only if nothing else is ventured by the participant,…1 point is not added to any other points awarded ).

A summary of scores for the top five positions will be published each Sunday, at the beginning of each set of five photographs.

Caveats / Understanding:

Postings may be held up due to circumstances beyond my control.

Delays in posting may occur each evening. ( sorry, no guarantee on 8:00 EDT, I’m a working stiff in the finance industry and there are late nights at times. – usually month end btw ).

In addition, as most of you are aware, part of the clues for each identity is a “presence/absence” notation about whether the artist has been in a prior Identity Set. Because flickr’s new format doesn’t facilitate the reading of a long list of names in a “Set’s” overview/description, those lists are also available on request. If you send me an email address that can receive attachments, I will transmit an Windows based Excel sheet with the names of the artists and the number of their paintings/objects. ( Be sure to specify which format you would like: xlsx; xls; csv; txt – tab delimited – if you don’t specify the default is xlsx MS Office-10). ( non-windows participants should request txt).

Also, sorry for the bias the timing provides those in the Americas but no matter how I thought about it… I couldn’t come up with a plan to assist Europe and Asia.

This is NOT a Toys.

There are sharp details, be careful.

How and from what it is made?

I used metal ejection molding techniques for every element. I use Nickel Silver as the main material for all gear and weapons. Learn more about this type of metal following the link from Wikipedia. This type of metal is used for producing coins in many countries across the globe.Predator's dreadlocks are made of beads.

I spent a lot of time creating custom predator character minifigures. Visit me on site www.brickpredator.com

Sometimes they come too close and they have gone past before you lift your camera.

A deer skull found by Arnold :)

Mezco One:12 Collective

A magpie couple has a nest in a tree just behind our house. One of the neighbour's cats loves to lie on their shed rooftop next to the tree, but obviously the two magpies aren't too pleased about that. They spent a good ten minutes trying to chase the cat away by flying over its head and picking at its tale, all the while making a terrible raucous. In the end, the cat had enough and left.

Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis) and Sunda sambar (Rusa timorensis) - Komodo National Park, Indonesia

A komodo dragon strides past the deer that are one of its main prey items. The deer do not appear to be particularly worried as they keep an eye on the dragon and give it some space. The dragon they can see is relatively safe but a surprise attack by one of the large monitors can pose a danger to these deer. For years there was a misconception that the bacteria living in the dragons mouth were responsible for killing its prey that it had bitten but not killed. In recent years this has been disproved, the dragons do possess some venom. In fact proteins that are present in their venom are known to inhibit blood clotting, lower blood pressure, induce muscle paralysis, and induce hypothermia, leading to shock and loss of consciousness in prey. How potent their venom is and how much of an effect it really has is debatable, most of the dragons prey dies of blood loss from the massive wounds sustained from the lizards backwards hooking teeth. Many of us have heard of water buffalo slowly succumbing to the infection of the bites wounds due to the bacterial flora of the dragons mouth but actually the infection stems from the filthy water in the pools they soak in rather than anything the dragon introduces.
