3D printed parts made of powder metal are the new craze, byut sometimes you have to subtract metal from the part to make the best holes, contours and angles. Subtractive Manufacturing is a secondary manufacturing process Btec is well versed in.

Titan Motorsports is a long-time HRE dealer, so when we announced the new R40 Motorsport wheel that was engineered with the same technology that went into the wheels on the 2010 Grand-Am GS Championship winning Fall-Line Motorsports BMW, Nero from Titan was on the phone in a heartbeat.

The car itself is a serious street/track contender, with mods ranging from tuned suspension and exhaust to a StopTech Trophy Sport big brake system, Vorsteiner aero mods and more. Since the car is also used for demonstrations on the track at driver education events, Nero wanted the lightest, strongest, performance-proven forged wheel he could get.

The new HRE custom forged, mesh-style, 6061-T6 aerospace grade aluminum wheel is incredibly light (17.5 lbs and up) yet precision engineered to stringent German TÜV specifications in HRE's TÜV-approved manufacturing facility for ultra light weight, high strength and unsurpassed quality. Nero went with a Satin Black finish, but Satin Silver, Brushed with Clearcoat and other custom colors and finishes will also be available. The R40 is available in 18" diameter and widths ranging from 8.5" - 12" in Multi-lug and Center Lock versions. The R40 also features a rattle-gun friendly open dish shape for fast wheel changes!

Photo-Precision Limited, St Albans (printers and publishers of postcards 1946 – 1969).

Photo Precision was established in 1946, by Directors Arthur Smith and Tom English. Arthur Smith served his apprenticeship with "Valentines" of Dundee as a photographer.

The company was based based in Perth Road St Albans. Arthur was called up in the R A F in WW2 as a private as an Ariel photographer, but failed his Aircrew medical as he was virtually blind in one eye. He finished his service as a Wing Commander, second in command of photography at Whitehall.

Tom English worked with experimental Dep't at Farnbourgh as a photographic engineer. Presumably, they assumed that this was the perfect partnership to form a business, after the end of WW2. The original factory was established at Caledonia Road in London.

In 1963 the company bought fellow postcard publishers, J B White of Dundee. However, Photo-Precision was itself taken over by Colourmaster Ltd in 1969.

"Colourmaster" was the brand name of Photo Precision used for all its postcards and guidebooks.

The company moved from its base in St. Albans, (Hollywell Hill) to St. Ives in Huntingdonshire, together with a new " Marinoni " litho printing set up, however sadly shortly thereafter went into administration.

There's not a lot of original stuff you can do with an AK anymore soooo.....

A fretless Fender Precision bass guitar. In the 1950s Leo Fender made a bass guitar with frets. Since the only other bass available to a band was a double bass, these frets gave bass players an unusually precise way to hit each note and hence the name that fender gave it: "Precision Bass".

It is somewhat ironic that many bass guitarists like these fretless guitars because of the tonal possibilities, more so, that this example of a fretless is a Precision bass, and not any other model of Fender's bass guitars.

Strobist/Lighting:

A single flash, camera right, and slightly elevated above the guitar's body. Its a Metz 45, (at 1/4 power with ebay radio triggers) so its close proximity and massive head (bigger than a Vivitar, much bigger than an SB) means the light isn't too hard. This was shot in a bright white room, using a black cloth to make the background dark.

Oh, and I shot in the wrong white balance deliberately to get these funky colours, kept the exposure low to get the saturation up, and get the specular highlights off all the varnish and shiny steel from over exposing too.

Can't wait till the original neck is back in shape so I can put her back together the way she's supposed to be.. But, for now, she's gonna be a brunette for a while. :)

This is a photograph from the first running of the Trim AC Bewley's 10 Mile Road Race which was held on Sunday 1st February 2015 at 12:00 in Trim, Co. Meath, Ireland. This race also incorporated the 2015 Meath 10 Mile Road Championships. For the first staging of this event this was an incredible success with almost 800 runners, joggers and walkers talking to the start line. The weather was perfect for running despite the bitter cold temperatures with air temperature of 4C recorded at the start. Some beautiful Spring sunshine helped brighten the day and the roads were clear and dry for racing.

Want to use this photograph or share it? Please read/scroll down a little further to find out how - it's very easy!

The race started on the Trim Athboy Road (the R154) and headed towards the town before making a left turn onto the Trim Dunderry road. The one mile mark comes just after a Y-junction which the race joins back to before the final 600 meters to the finish. Heading north to Dunderry the route takes a left in the middle of the village and heads west for 2 miles on the Dunderry Athboy road. At the next major junction the race takes another left turning south towards Trim town again. One of the only significant hills/drags of the course happens at around the 6.5 mile marker. Miles 7 - 9 are ran on winding roads with nice hedgerows and shelter from any breeze. During these miles you will begin to see the spire of Trim church in the distance. At the Y-Junction from mile one you have 600 meters to go with a final right turn into the industrial estate and the finish line.

The success of today's race is not an accident. Trim AC, and their army of volunteers and help from other Meath athletic clubs, put in huge work to make this race a success.

Today's race adds significantly to Trim AC's reputation for top quality organisation of race events. The 10 mile road race today follows on from the Braveheart 5KM Trail Race which is held annually in June around the beautiful and historical fields of Porchfields and Trim Castle. Today's race could be the begining of one of the region's largest and most popular 10 mile road races.

Are there more photographs from this race? This photograph is part of a larger set of photographs from the Trim AC 10 Mile Road Race 2015. They are available on our Flickr photostream in the album set here www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/sets/72157650166189770

Yes - of course you can! Flickr provides several ways to share this and other photographs in this Flickr set. You can share to: email, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Tumblr, LiveJournal, and Wordpress and Blogger blog sites. Your mobile, tablet, or desktop device will also offer you several different options for sharing this photo page on your social media outlets.

We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. Our only "cost" is our request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, etc or (2) other websites, blogs, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you must provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us.

If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.

I want to download these pictures to my computer or device?

You can download the photographic image here direct to your computer or device. This version is the low resolution web-quality image. How to download will vary slight from device to device and from browser to browser. However - look for a symbol with three dots 'ooo' or the link to 'View/Download' all sizes. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.

I want get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?

If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.

You will find the link above clearly outlined in the description text which accompanies this photograph. If you really like what we do please spread the link around your social media, send us an email, leave a comment beside the photographs, send us a Flickr email, etc. If you are using the photographs in newspapers or magazines we ask that you mention where the original photograph came from.

I would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?

Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.

We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs

We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?

The explaination is very simple.

Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.

ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.

Creative Commons aims to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Don't like your photograph here?

That's OK! We understand!

If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.

I want to tell people about these great photographs!

Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably http://www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets
