Monte Pasubio (Venetian Prealps) 20190901
The Pasubio group is one of the most relevant Little Dolomites massifs (Venetian Prealps). It has an elevation of 2,239 meters.
The Pasubio held a high strategic role during the Great War since it represented the last defensive position of the Venetian Plain. It was the site of fierce mine warfare on the Italian Front. In May 1916, after the Austrian Strafexpedition, an Italian contingent was urgently transferred from the Isonzo Front and under the command of General Achille Papa, they stopped the Austrian Army at Cima Palon.

LA FATTORIA DEGLI ANIMALI.
Fino ai primi anni del ‘900 la popolazione dell’Alpago era dedita soprattutto all’allevamento delle pecore di razza Alpagota, attività nel corso dei secoli molto fiorente a cui seguiva la produzione dei prodotti caseari. L’allevamento ovino era praticato ad integrazione di quello bovino.
Gli agnelli erano venduti ad allevatori nel bellunese e nel trevigiano, la lana era impiegata dalle singole famiglie contadine per confezionare abiti, tessuti e biancheria, calze e calzettoni, maglie e maglioni.
Molta attenzione era dedicata alla lavorazione della lana che, dopo la tosatura delle pecore, lavata, asciugata era inviata alle manifatture di Serravalle di Vittorio Veneto per essere trasformata in filato raccolto in matasse. La lana lavorata riprendeva la via del ritorno in Alpago per esser colorata e avviata alla confezione per i nuovi capi d’abbigliamento. Una parte del filato poteva essere oggetto di scambio e commercio. Sotto i portici e sui poggioli delle abitazioni era consuetudine osservare giovani e anziane filare lana all’arcolaio.

Snowfall (Lessinia plateau 20191114)
The Lessini mountain group in the Veneto Prealps, are the hills that rise just north of Verona and acts as a border between the Veneto Region and Trentino Alto Adige Region. The Lessini mountain group reaches to, just over 2000 meters a.s.l. and has multiple valleys and long ridges that descend down towards the Po valley.

Lessinia is the mountain zone just north of Verona, between the city and the Little Dolomites of Vicentino.
Its summits generally top out at between 1,500 and 1,800 meters high whilst, to the west, the Carega range reaches more than 2,200 meters
The area of its territory that extends over the higher plateau of the Monti Lessini is a part of the Parco Naturale Regionale della Lessinia (Regional Natural Park of Lessinia). Lessinia is rich in flora and fauna, especially in birds, from the golden eagle to the grey heron.
Lessinia is an area which has been inhabited since the dawn of time, thanks in part to the abundance of flint and the presence of caves offering shelter.
