Il Fagheron Non mancano i grandi faggi anche sulle nostre Prealpi. Da segnalare in particolare il Fagheron (faggio in veneto) di Sant’Anna, a due chilometri da Tambre d’Alpago (Belluno). Questo maestoso esemplare si trova a circa 1000 metri di quota, proprio all’ingresso della foresta del Cansiglio, in prossimità del maneggio del Corpo forestale. Ha un’età presunta di 300-400 anni e un suo gemello, che si trovava a 100 metri di distanza, è caduto diversi anni fa, dopo essere stato ripetutamente vittima di atti vandalici. Al museo ecologico della Forestale del Canisglio si trova una sezione del tronco di quest’ultimo con indicati tutti gli avvenimenti storici “vissuti” dall’albero, anello per anello. Dalla Rivoluzione Francese alla Seconda Guerra Mondiale.
Questo vetusto esemplare, sotto la sua chioma un tempo andavano ad ombreaggiarsi vacche e cavalli. Fino a pochi anni or sono sorgeva , poco piìu in basso, un altro enorme esemplare , del quale una sezione del tronco e' conservata presso il museo dell Uomo in Pian Osteria. Leggenda narra che anche dove oggi sorge la Chiesetta della Madonna della Runal anticamente viveva un grandioso faggio , meta di pellegrini che veneravano questi grandi alberi. Forse proprio il FAGHERON di sant Anna eì un custode di queste antiche usanze.

Aggrappato al limitare di due fasce rocciose, questo gruppetto di costruzioni ricorda un antico fortino.
The Chartreuse Mountains (French: "Massif de la Chartreuse" [masif d(ə) la ʃaʁtʁøz]) are a mountain range in southeastern France, stretching from the city of Grenoble in the south to the Lac du Bourget in the north. They are part of the French Prealps, which continue as the Bauges to the north and the Vercors to the south. Chartreuse is one of my preferred site for enjoying a simple excursion in the Alps for a half day coming from Lyon city.
Chartreuse is shared between the Dauphiné and Savoie and the former border between France and Savoie is still observable is some places and monuments in the Entremont area (Les Echelles, Saint-Pierre-d’Entremont).
On June 16, 2025 I decided to return there for the first time with a film camera with my FED-4 (see below for details about) equipped of another standard lens FED Industar-L61 1:2.8 f=53mm (the one of my other FED-4 that has the lens Nr. 8711586). For all the views, the lens was equipped with 42mm push-on FOCA orange filter x3.5, and a Genaco cylindric stainless-steel shade hood conceived for a lens around 45mm focal length.
The film used was a 36-exposure Rollei RPX 100. Expositions were determined for 40 ISO to compensate the absorption of the orange filter, using a Minolta Autometer III lightmeter fitted with a 10° finder for selective metering privileging the shadow areas.

After completion, the film was rewound and processed using 350 mL of Adox Adonal (Agfa Rodinal) developer prepared at the dilution 1+25 for 9min at 20°C.
Digitizing was made using a Sony A7 camera (ILCE-7, 24MP) fitted to a Minolta Auto Bellows III with the Minolta slide duplication accessory and Minolta Macro Bellow lens 1:3.5 f=50mm. The diffuse light source was a LED panel CineStill Cine-lite.
The RAW files obtained were inverted within the latest version available of Adobe Lightroom Classic (version 14.3.1) and edited to the final jpeg pictures without intermediate file. They are presented either as printer files with a frame or the full size JPEG's together with some documentary smartphone color pictures.
About the FED-4 camera :
In the USSR, the first 35 mm camera was the FED, first produced in the 30’s by the F. E. Dzerzhinsky Labour Commune in Kharkov, Ukraine. The FED was a straight reproduction of the pre-war Leica IIc. After WWII the production of camera’s was restarted in Kharkov and FED produced a first completely new model in 1955 with the FED-2 that was produced until 1970 under different versions.
The FED-4 is the fourth model of the FED produced at about 633.000 units in Kharkov from 1964 to 1980. With the FED-3 and the FED-4, the camera inflated in size and weight in a less streamlined and less elegant design. The large-base range finder returned to a narrower basis.
The second version of the FED-4 (1969-1980) , the film is now advanced by a modern lever mechanism instead of a rotating button. The shutter could be now operated in the slow-speed (1/15s to 1s) range. The camera integrated a selenium photo-cell lightmeter with galvanometer. The normal lens Industar-61 1:2.8 f=52mm is also a Tessar type lens, its version « L» includes special glasses with lanthanum improving the lens performances. The FED-4 was largely exported a sold under different brand names as « Revue » the brand of the Photo-Quelle in west Germany.
I found my FED-4 version-2 for 25€ in June 2025 from a French eBay seller, with the Industar lens and the leather bag. After a complete detailing, the camera turned to be « as a new » and in a stunning mechanical and optical conditions. The range finder was still correctly aligned and calibrated and the selenium cell still operating giving correct values compered to my other trusted light meters.

Il Monte Lema è una montagna di 1.624 m. s.l.m. delle Prealpi Luganesi, situata sul confine tra la Svizzera (Canton Ticino) e l'Italia (provincia di Varese).
Sul versante svizzero è raggiunta da una funivia che parte da Miglieglia. Sulla sommità vi è un ristorante con servizio di piccolo albergo, un osservatorio astronomico amatoriale[1] e una stazione meteorologica con un'antenna radar. La vetta è compresa in un vasto tracciato di sentieri che si snodano su queste prealpi per oltre ottanta chilometri. La via più frequentata è la traversata dal Monte Lema al Monte Tamaro, si cammina sulla cresta delle montagne e la magnifica vista si estenda dal Lago Maggiore al Lago Ceresio. Meta anche di escursionisti in Mountain bike.
In una luce vivida ammiriamo il Lago di Lugano e le vie di salita che corrono sul selvaggio versante occidentale del Generoso.
Monte Lema is a mountain 1,624 m above sea level in the Lugano Prealps , located on the border between Switzerland ( Canton Ticino ) and Italy ( province of Varese ).
Description
On the Swiss side it is reached by a cable car that leaves from Miglieglia . On the summit there is a restaurant with small hotel service, an amateur astronomical observatory [1] and a meteorological station with a radar antenna . The peak is included in a vast route of paths that wind through these pre-Alps for over eighty kilometres.
The most popular route is the crossing from Monte Lema to Monte Tamaro , you walk on the crest of the mountains and the magnificent view extends from Lake Maggiore to Lake Ceresio . Also a destination for mountain bikers . In the past, between the sixties and nineties of the twentieth century, Lema was also a small ski resort, consisting of two ski lifts , which was then closed due to lack of snow and lack of customers.
Descending towards the Italian side (municipality of Dumenza ) you reach Pradecolo (1184 m above sea level), an alp with an alpine refuge with an adjoining chapel and some private huts.
A little further down (979 m) is the Benedictine monastery of the Holy Trinity.
Just south-west of the summit, along the ridge that descends towards Astano, there is an anti-peak (1518 m above sea level) mentioned on the Moncucco maps but locally called "Lemino". This pre-peak (it has a prominence of approximately 20 m) is also clearly visible from Luino and Dumenza. It is reached by a track in the grass that branches off from the path that connects Alpe di Dumenza (1380 m) with Monte Lema.
Toponym
It should be noted that in Italian it is called the Lema, but in the local dialect it was always designated as the Lema.
