This young Bald Eagle stretches it's wings and practices flight in the safety of it's nest. There are three young eagles in this nest, which is getting pretty crowded as they have grown as large as their parents, who continually bring food back to the nest (I've observed them bring fish, ducks and many turtles back to feed the eaglets)
My son practicing his guitar. Tri-X Processed with Rodinal (1:25) for 7 minutes. I like the contrast (it's a bit contrasty) and the grain isn't as bad as I thought it might be.

Viewfinder app settings: 4x5 camera, 150mm lens, Ilford FP4+ emulation. While I wait for a recently purchased Zone VI camera to arrive, I figured I would take advantage of the Viewfinder app to start teaching myself to see in the aspect ratio, and to get accustomed to the field of view of a 150mm lens in this format. This is at Filoli on the eastern slope of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Quick edit in Lightroom app for iPad.
My oldest child takes piano, she practices (almost daily) with encouragement ( :
I have some baggage concerning this however, when I was her age my mother also wanted me to play piano, I even took some lessons, but I just wasn't interested-I had better things to do. Well guess what hindsight is always 20/20 right, I wish I had stuck with the lessons. I do tell my daughter this "keep it up, you will be thankful one day" I wonder if she believes me! Hopefully so.

my home practice isn't what it should be, but I blame this on the fact that the mat gets so crowded.
The older juvenile doing some landing practice....below I have posted two shots of another practice session taken at quite a further distance....one of the juveniles decided that the other juvenile would be a good landing spot! It actually tried to land on the other's back twice and then gave up!
