To be clear, Roxy does not need any practice going after her toy or coming back for the reward (she LOVES Cheerios).
The practice session is for me. Using my new(ish) Voigtlander lens for action shots. It is a manual focus lens so, I need the practice. Been a long time since I have had a manual focus lens so getting in some practice with one of my fav models.
Hey, for Cheerios Roxy will let me practice all day!!!
In case you are wondering, it is an old tried and true technique, prefocus an area where you know the action will be passing through. Continuous high speed and use an f/stop for bigger depth of field. People get too caught up in AF and VR... I grew up with film cameras where Auto Focus and VR were considered science fiction... And VR is just something that will eventually break in a lens...
Actually spent a lot of time on the hair for this one, and sadly I don't really think it comes across.. But then again it's gorgeous hair to begin with ♥ Other than that, I'm quite pleased ^^ Yay for progress right?

As soon as the generals and the politicos
can predict the motions of your mind,
lose it. Leave it as a sign
to mark the false trail, the way
you didn't go.
Be like the fox

some in the wrong direction.

The quote above is an except from a wonderful poem by Wendell Berry entitled, "Manifesto:
The Mad Farmer Liberation Front". I highly recommend you read it, in particular out loud. It's a remarkable poem, both content-speaking and in terms of flow: the fast-slow cadence, the words that roll and tumble about in your head, and the all too serious humor contained within.
This was taken last Spring, and was one of the many cherry tree images that I have left to post. It was, of course, taken with the Hasselblad 500 C/M.
This man or woman, i am really not sure =), was taking a shot of the sail.

i guess i am at the right place and the right time.
Soo.. I was practicing in PS. Any advice/comments/suggestions? I dunno. Im trying to draw hair and figure out my own style. I found a brush I liked so that's good, now it's just a matter of HOW. I struggle with highlights/shadows. Oh well, I'm proud of this.
When young osprey are learning to fly they exaggerate their moves especially when they land. This is a learning curve for them but great opportunities for us as photographers. This guy made three attempts to get to this nest until he finally figured it out.

The direction of shot (from left to right) indicates that , by doing this we can move towards our aim.

These are two of my last face-ups for my friends Nhaya and Misaki. I want to improve my face-ups so I'm practicing a lot, but when a face-up needs feckles, I always have so much fun! I love to see BJD skin as realistic skin. Thank you so much to Nhaya & Misaki!
