My haphazard attempts to conquer the world of knits have produced a plain but comfy and practical tank-top. Hopefully future versions will be a little more exciting; this was basically a proof-of-concept.

My copy of Practical Photography arrived today and includes a tutorial on forcing some sheets of paper into curves. the idea is to use natural light but i had to use a lamp.

Many old houses of Lavaux used to have this convenient attic crane lift access for heavy loads (hay, wood, whatnot?). With narrow doors and windows it may also have been the only way to get large items in there. Lutry village of Lavaux, canton of Vaud, Switzerland.
Some ask what is the point of High Dynamic Range photography or how it works. Here's an over-the-top example for you.
The first shot shows an exposure designed to give you the important foreground details for the combine harvester and the figure. However, it is very bright so the camera can't show us much of the background and sky (ie what your human eye is admiring in reality)
So we combine three different exposures at three different f-stops in order to see what is in the sky and background fields... and hey-presto (or is that HAY-Presto?) we can see what's going on.
Admittedly I might have gone a bit OTT on the tone-mapping here.... he he.
