Powerline tower in South Grafton. Photo by Wendy Watkins.

The leaning tower of power. Can't tell it is leaning in this picture, but I guarantee you, it is.

View from the Powerline Trail.

I can see the beauty in the early morning light hitting the ice covered power lines even while hoping that the freezing rain stops soon.

More of the double sided concrete poles from Entergy.

Near my house. Just a powerline. If you look to the left of the pole, you can see the now cut cord with which our neighbors stole our cable.

Very old Slemco pole. This is the only line on their grid with these types of insulators.

These are the thinnest wires I've ever seen for a 34.5KV line. The poles and insulators look ancient as well.

One of the many that have been replaced.

LUS lines at the substation. Cleco's lines are coming out of the other end.

Much of the Powerline biking trail is pretty easy, like this. The rationale for the name is obvious...

Since it encompasses the trail for pedal-powered transportation and the actual transportation of electricity from a nearby hydro facility, I considered this photograph for 52Frames week 24 - Transportation. But after some deliberation I concluded the beautiful mountains overpowered the transportation aspects of the photograph and opted to go with something else.
