Morganston, Ontario.

As I walk around my neighborhood, I realize that the powerlines are everywhere and I have been so accustomed to not see them.

Old Adirondack Power and Light double-circuit transmission line tower (possibly 34.5 kV design) in the city of Amsterdam, NY. View NW to substation from Vrooman Avenue at Hawk Street. One circuit is used for a 13.2 kV distribution, the other is not connected. Functionally superceded by the adjacent double-circuit 115 kV transmission line (center). Single phase 7.6kV on the right. A switch between the two circuits.

This sunrise happened last month, before the deluge occurred. The Bay Trail along Steinberger Slough has to be one of my favorite places to get sunrise shots: it's in walking distance, there's the slough and San Francisco Bay, and there can be lots of wading birds getting their breakfast. Alas, for me and Jackie, the city is building up the levees to meet new code. They are laying down lots and lots of mud, so I don't think we'll be heading out here anytime soon.

Really wide crossarms on the LUS part.

Always powerlines. But it takes a visitor to remind me that Europeans wisely place all powerlines undergound and are therefore not accustomed to weather and other related power outages. Thanks Gabi.
