The disjointed web of communications scatter the sky above the passing street life of old Beijing.

Hutongs (simplified Chinese: 胡同; traditional Chinese: 衚衕; pinyin: hútòng) are a type of narrow streets or alleys, most commonly associated with Beijing, China. In Beijing, hutongs are alleys formed by lines of siheyuan, traditional courtyard residences. Many neighbourhoods were formed by joining one siheyuan to another to form a hutong, and then joining one hutong to another. The word hutong is also used to refer to such neighbourhoods.- Wikipedia

Distribute One HDMI Source to Four Locations

The 1x4 HDMI splitter allows set-top boxes, DVD players, D-VHS players and other HDTV devices with HDMI output to be connected to four or more HDTV displays.

How It Works

Gefen's 1x4 HDMI splitter is a distribution hub that sends the same video output to four or more HDTV digital displays by itself and many more displays if multiple splitters are connected together.

The HDMI splitter is connected using a HDMI cable from the HDMI source to the HDMI splitter input. There are four HDMI outputs. HDMI Output #1 is the Primary output, where the characteristics and capabilities of the Primary Display are retrieved and then used to drive all the other displays.

I saw you standing in the corner

On the edge of a burning light

I saw you standing in the corner

Come to me again in the cold, cold night

in the cold, cold night

You make me feel a little older

Like a full grown woman might

But when you're gone I grow colder

come to me again in The Cold, Cold, Night

in the cold, cold night

I hear you walking by my front door

I hear the creaking of the kitchen floor

I don't care what other people say

I'm going to love you, anyway

Come to me again in the cold, cold night

in the cold, cold night

I can't stand it any longer

I need the fuel to make my fire bright

So don't fight it any longer

Come to me again in the cold, cold night

In the cold, cold night

And I know that you feel it too

When my skin turns into glue

You will know that it's warm inside

And you'll come runnin' to me, in the cold, cold night

in the cold, cold night

in the cold, cold night

in the cold, cold night

PUTTING THE PEDAL BACK TOGETHER

Right! Time to put the pedal back together.

There’s a black circular part on the inside of the TOP part of the pedal. That bit lines up with the centre of the spring (which sits loosely at the centre of the BOTTOM of the pedal).

There was a tricky bit lining up the copper contacts (circled in yellow - left) with outer edge of the coil, I had to carefully use my finger to press/pull it into place whilst at the same time lowering the TOP onto the BOTTOM.

Then, I had to keep a tight grip on both halves of the pedal before re-inserting the long pin that holds it all together! The big strong spring inside makes it want to pop apart LOL!

STRIPPING OFF THE INSULATION

Next, I used my ‘Wire Strippers’ to remove the Brown plastic insulation from the ends.

I also removed the Blue Plastic from the end of the Blue wire (again lining up a ’Crimp Eyelet’ to gauge the length of plastic to remove).

NOTE: I slipped off the fabric covers during this step to make things easier!

There are three or four poles like this in my dad's neighborhood. This one only leans a little towards the top. A couple of the others are much worse, already are cracked, and will undoubtedly snap before too many more ice storms.

The hodge-podge of cabling is also a bit unsettling. My dad said critters are getting blasted from time to time. He recounted how a pigeon had landed in the wrong spot on the transformer; there was a loud POP! , and a cascade of feathers was all that was left.

I'm looking forward to this weekend. I have a couple of projects to work on so I'll stay busy. I need to start planning out my balcony garden--so if you have any tips on balcony gardens, I'm all ears! Right now I'm looking to plant some herbs, tomatoes, and maybe strawberries.

CApaBLE shimmer out of (the) question?

A great product for custom applications. If you want to hide your wires in the walls, it would be really hard to not use a wall plate. This wall plate features 24k gold plated HDMI receptacles. This wall plate supports any HDMI type connectors.Compatible with any single gang box. 5 inch wire on the rear of the wall plate will allow you to easily connect cable running in the wall to the wall plate without bending it.

A shot taken shortly after sunset near Aust, Bristol. This is looking directly down the walkway towards the recognisable pylons that streetch across the Severn Estuary alongside the old severn bridge (which has been dedicated to world peace, of all things!).

With the fine strands of copper wire exposed, I gently used my fingers to pinch the metal and carefully twist it tightly around onto itself - to form a sort of rope effect. There should be no loose strands of wire sticking out. (NB: The ‘Round Nose Pliers’ can also be used for this job if the wires are fiddly to handle.)

I rarely get the chance to catch the sunrise but every now and then my body will decide that getting up at 0400AM or earlier for no discernible reason is 'what we’re doing today!'. So I went to do some ‘mirin of the Croydon skyline and also took some dodgy photos on my phone.

The edges (especially on cables and power lines) always come out oversharp - there seems to be some unsharp filter built into the S5’s native camera app that I can’t turn off and that I have not worked out how to properly correct for in post :'(
