Massive Prussian 'T20' Class 2-10-2 tank 95 1027 piloting DR Class '41' 2-8-2 41 1144 at Hüttenhof with a lightly-loaded freight from Immelborn to Eisenach during the late afternoon of 7th October 2010. Although this was very much over the top in motive power terms for such a short trailing load, the pilot loco was required back at Eisenach for further duties during the following morning.

I do usually like to move around when shooting on the embankment (apart from my Canary Whatf shots but that's because I'm taking drone shots too ;-) but once I found this viewpoint I just took shot after shot, long exposure after another and as such I have such a haul, all different but of the same iconic London landmark.
Former power plant, which operated from 1911-2001.

Since CSX has taken over the pan am power has been hanging around. Recently Portsmouth branch Local L063 got two CSX GP40-2 for power. They just got paper before crossing the Great Bay as they head for Portsmouth with 2 cars for Tyco and 16 cars for Sea3. Photo taken Stratham, NH January 22, 2025
Sorry, not sorry for posting another shot from Tuesday afternoon. This is obviously a composite as I love having the flat water and then the sky frozen, especially when it is providing colours like this. Have a couple more to come but might drip feed these later.

The building that houses Australia's first publicly owned hydro electric power station is now a museum. Built in 1895 it has withstood the test of time and flood. The 1929 flood in the Cataract Gorge, near Launceston, wrecked the turbines and seriously damaged the building, but it remained in service until 1955. Here you can see where the distributor pipes that delivered water to the turbines flowed into the building. There are two old turbines still here which we'll look at in coming days.
Drax power station. The only coal powered station still under power, but burning wood pellets imported from the US. Once the most powerful power station in the UK, producing 6% of the UK power. Many questions over its sustainable credentials...but it does make or a good photo.

Crane and shaft were built in 1911 and lead deep down to the Hydro Power Plant.
66768 heads west across Keadby Bridge, passing the power station under the process of reconstruction. Very much a grab shot as this train rumbled across as we walked away from the swing bridge box.
The spots on the water indicate that despite the blue sky in the background it was actually raining at this point.
